On the contrary realistic training is the bedrock of all successful missions. Training designed to simulate real world conditions ensures that the necessary skills are in place should the need arise.
Of course if training is dumbed down to the point that there is zero risk, then the effort if pretty much wasted. That is why there should be an acceptable mortality rate during peacetime training.
If nobody dies during training then I worry. It means that the training is not effective enough.
I truly agree with you. The problem is that we are conscripts. We are not professional trained soldiers. If you die while training to be a professional trained soldier, then i think casualty can be understood. Training hard to protect yourself and country sounds very relevant if i am volunteer trained professional soldier.
