A lot of degree holders who are good in mathematics do not mean that they are good tutors or teachers.

Anyone who has a 1st class Honors degree in Maths, regardless if from NUS, UK Cambridge, or US MIT, should be snapped up immediately. To many students at all grade school levels, maths seemed daunting, but in reality, it is the ROOT or principles which are actually very simple to impart by teachers, but sadly, somehow along the way they failed to do so, & complicated the entire process of logic which Maths is built upon.

The 'mother i learnt from' would make a good tutor, as to get the honors degree, she would had understood such principles & will be successful to impart such to her students & help them not just score, but inculcate the principles of logic to them which are critical & needed in the real world we live in.

Not say I want to talk big for My uncle. The day when my uncle discovered the secret to acing maths was the day he knew he was born to be a clear minded person that will gonna live with logics down the roads.
My uncle had always been the bottom few position in class.
But when comes to maths things worked the other way I.e his name was always called out in the last or 2nd last by the teacher I.e the highest score. Not just in class but the whole school or institution he went.
The feeling is good that being always at the bottom for overall leesults he can shine out for maths KNN.
Sometimes my uncle just wonder what will happen to him if he were to pursue further on maths and thus he felt the temptation to take on people with 1st class honour degree in Maths including our pm LHL KNN

tech companies in sillycon valley used to snap up math graduates from prestigious universities to do data science, but not anymore as freeze in hiring zooms and layoffs loom.
