Not exactly accurate. Elements of 129 and 801 squadrons will be deployed if they send the Hermes 450 drone. And elements of 138 and 811 squadron will be deployed if they send the Heron drone. Either way, there will be RSAF boots on Pinoy soil. Though not frontline deployed, there is still a risk of them getting in harm's way.

U have too high of an opinion about the Phillippines armour. A few old RPGs would result in a 69% loss rate for their old V-150s.

U cannot put regular infantry together with armour and expect them to click. It don't work like that.

High chance infantry get run over by the V150 when they encounter isis roadblock in the jungle track. Not sure about v150 armor but I doubt they can withstand sustained 7.62 fire. Bloody death trap. The last thing troopers want when encountered ambush and get into a firefight inside a vehicle that trapped behind enemy fire with no where to turn.

Don't believe everything army officers claim, it the ground pounders that know how to fight in the jungle terrain with armor support fire.

The last thing troopers want when encountered ambush and get into a firefight inside a vehicle that trapped behind enemy fire with no where to turn.

But they can't get one of their old tracked AFV like the M113 there because it will break down multiple times before reaching the town. also, their bridges are not rated for very heavy AFVs. So, to make the best of a bad situation, the V-150 had to be used. This thing will be penetrated like a swiss cheese by 7.62mm AP rounds. If the terrorists had any semblance of anti tank capability. like say an RPG-7 or a LAW, these V-150 will be rolling coffins.

Familiar with the deployment, documentary on it was on TV. Probably the clear difference in terrain would be helpful as we are in the same geography like all our neighbours.

Can you at least keep up with events. Zikapore and RSAF already have many many hours of real life experience in Afghanistan. Sqd 128 was deployed there along with the imagery team in 2007. I believe they flew over 100 missions with our drones, commanded by a full bird colonel

lucky for pinoy (thin) armor, no sign of rpg even old ones. just a motley bunch of assault rifles and grenade launchers used by insurgents. i suppose terrorists are not expecting armor including m113.

even the pinoy marines use v-150 for street fighting. there are m113 equipped units but they are used for roadblocks and chokepoints.

If pinoy using the browning 50cal MG variant M113, that only 11ton, compare to the v150 which is 10ton so no reason the bridges cannot handle the weight. All these A vehicles shd be use as firebase while straight legs send in to clear out isis strongpoints.

The common sight appearing in tv/movies of infantry advancing behind armour vehicles under enemy fire is not applicable in jungle terrain. Most common tactic shd be use scouts to seek out isis strong points, set up firebase 1-2klicks high ground for direct 50cal or mortar fire and send in infantry to clear. There no easy way out.
