malay eat shrimp and shark both are scavengers like.....drum rolls

pork

thats double standard. but at least they are "trying" to be clean.

Chinese "Mystery zodiacs" is another matter. Any religion thats hides their intention and demands tradition that contradicts human health can go do one. Theres no room for stupidity and tradition in the same room anymore. The white elephant has to go.

Is she suffering from brain injury to even suggest those inappropriate wordings. I wonder how she get into the communications department without a brain.

McDonald is claiming no intention for the soft toy set to represent the Chinese zodiac probably because it realised (or was advised) that the entire zodiac as a whole is haram (non-halal), not only the pig. If MUIS pursue the case, McDonald's halal certificate could be revoked for selling non-halal superstitious items.

This contrast with Scroobal's post where he states that MUIS is not at fault:

It could have easily consulted MUIS. ]

One says that the impetus for McDonald's move lies in the roots of MUIS reaction or advice.

The other is a damage-control mechanism which subtly turns the attention away from MUIS to fanning the emotions on McDonalid.

Since halal-certificates are issued by MUIS and businesses are certified halal because they want the Muslim dollar, it is up to MUIS to comment that selling toy pigs will not violate the terms of McDonald's certification.

Has MUIS commented?

BTW - pork is indeed dirty and I am not muslim.

You are entitled to your opinion.

No chinese is forcing you to eat pork.

In any case, the issue here is MUIS, halal certification, McDonald, toy pigs and the rights of Non-Muslims in a multi-racial restaurant.

There are those who point to the mass of Muslims surrounding us (fact) and there are some who glorified terrorists and intimidators (bullies) as Saladin's fighters.

Despite the factual basis of our politico-geographical situation and the bullying tactics of some Muslims, it does not mean that this is not our home too. As such our values and culture should not be undermined.

Compromises is the best policy in a multi-racial society. However it should not be a one-way street in favour of Muslims.

Both Muslims and Non-Muslims have rights to their beliefs, culture and a peaceful state.

Let us all keep calm and contribute to a peaceful resolution.

Veronica Tan is saying that she is writing this press release, not on her own authority, but on behalf of Claudia Yeo.

Can Claudia comment if MUIS had been approached or if it is a unilateral McDonald's decision?
