OYK introduces the ViP team.
1 hr ·
Meet our
#EverydayHeroes: Ms Kahvidah (left) and Dr Karen (middle) from the Violet Programme (ViP) - a home palliative care programme.
Home palliative care allows critically ill patients to be cared for in the comfort of their homes - a familiar environment - and in the presence of loved ones.
Before ViP, 90-year-old Mdm Sumiah who is bed-bound and has heart failure and dementia had to make many medical trips to the doctors.
Now, she can stay home and receive dedicated care by the ViP team. The ViP team also taught her caregivers how to better monitor her medical condition.
ViP is a collaboration between
St. Andrew's Community Hospital,
Changi General Hospital (CGH) and St. Andrew’s Nursing Homes. Since last August, it has helped over 300 patients.
The team is one of the 9,000 healthcare workers recognised at the recent Singapore Health Quality Service Awards 2022.
Undeterred, our
#HealthcareHeroes continue to stand strong on the frontline, in the face of Omicron.
They did not let these challenges dampen their passion. We truly owe them a debt of gratitude.
