The trickle-down effects are just starting; the stealing, the extortions, the embezzlements, the prostitutions, the ah longs, the killings....

Those who work in the offices nearby will be affected first. They will take their lunches and pop in and never got out. Mesmerised !!! Once, twice...Their livelihoods fly out of the windows. Sack for truancy and heavier cases, embezzlement, books are surely going to be cooked to feed their newly discovered habits.

Any casinos that are surburbanised will have these type of formerly upright workers bend for the love of gambling is an addiction and they are many who are willing to lose everything just to get the highs that the casinos offered.

So many studies were published and available from every major cities that has a casino or two built into them and the time taken to correlate them back to normalcy were between 12 to 15 years.

Meanwhile, Singapore could go to hell and roasts in between these years....


Anyway, some self-analysing would help too :



You may have a gambling problem if you:

If your loved one has a gambling problem, he or she might:

Become increasingly defensive about his or her gambling. The more a problem gambler is in the hole, the more the need to defend gambling as a way to get money. Your loved one may get secretive, defensive or even blame you for the need to gamble, telling you that it is all for you and you need to trust in the “big win someday”.

Suddenly become secretive over money and finances. Your loved one might show a new desire to control household finances, or there might increasingly be a lack of money despite the same income and expenses. Savings and assets might mysteriously dwindle, or there may be unexplained loans or cash advances.

Become increasingly desperate for money to fund the gambling. Credit card bills may increase, or your loved one may ask friends and family for money. Jewelry or other items easily pawned for money may mysteriously disappear.




The biggest step in treatment is realizing you have a problem with gambling. It takes tremendous strength and courage to own up to this, especially if you have lost a lot of money and strained or broken relationships along the way.

A SECOND cluster of prisons officially opened at Changi Prison Complex on Wednesday, marking a decade of development that has centralised nearly all of Singapore's prisons within a single area.

Officiating at the launch of the five prisons that make up this new cluster, which can house 5,600 inmates, Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng said the move helps cut costs through economies of scale and efficient use of common services.

The first cluster of five prisons opened at the complex in 2004, which together with the new cluster, can house some 11,000 inmates.

DPM Wong, who is also the Home Affairs Minister, made clear that as prisons modernised with high-tech systems to deter and secure, basic objectives in helping inmates reform must remain unchanged. He assured that the prisons will continue to provide rehabilitation opportunities for offenders within the context of a spartan, disciplined and deterrent regime.

But Mr Wong added that prisons are not always the most appropriate solution for all offenders. More will be done to allow first offenders convicted of non-serious crimes to serve community-based sanctions instead of going to jail.

'We recognise that even as imprisonment punishes the offender who has committed the crime, it often also brings about hardship to the families of the offenders, especially their children,' he said, pointing out that a slew of community-based treatment orders will come on-stream this year after changes to the Criminal Procedure Code are legislated.

Government would also need to double up the police force, security and prison service, this will likely affecting its quality of personnel and service also in the short-medium term.

And we are only taking about coping with the crime rate increasing with the influx of foreign tourists to the casinos. Wait till the FTrash and the local Peasant Garbage joins the rout-I think our police force will not be about to cope with the load.

Talk about money not so difficult to count and analyze cost, when the casino makes big monies, the social cost of two casinos will be immeasurable and irrecoverable.

Jailed for 4 weeks = $50 a day (prison cost) x 30 =$1500
Court cost = $2000

Total cost to taxpayer = $3500/

I wonder if the influx of FT has taxed the Singapore court system.

Hey, everything seems to piece in nicely...

The Prison's capacity was only about 5,000 in 2004, and today the capacity have risen to 11,000 in 2010.

What's new in Singapore;

2 Million FTs ranging from no skill labor, to semi-skill labor, to so-so skill labor, to very few investors etc...

2 New Casinos

Russiafication of Singapore, instead of Swissification.

With the above combination, Crime Rates are being FORECASTED high high....

Perhaps in future, 11,000 capacity for Changi not enough, must double the cell capacity to 22,000 and maybe use some of the Island, and turn it into alcatraz of Singapore!

In USA, 2,304,115 were incarcerated in U.S. prisons and jails in 2008

Eventually Tax Revenues are being siphon off for these social ills which could have been prevented right from the beginning.
