Alvivi are back!
After a short “hiatus”, the controversial sex bloggers have sprung to life again, posting a new video on YouTube this week.
Directed and written by Alvin Tan, the video ends with a disturbing scene of Vivian Lee ‘slashing her wrist’.
Titled “Regret”, the video was uploaded on Wednesday and has since been viewed 4,875 times.
The one-minute and fifty nine-second clip opens with an emotional Lee sitting alone on a park bench reflecting on the choices that shaped her life and brought her to where she is now.
‘When I was a child people told me to pursue my dreams, believe in yourself…find your own voice. Back then, everything was simple.’
“As I grew, people say get real, choose stability, don’t speak out too much. Yet, I was idealistic. I choose uncertainty. And I spoke out too often and too loudly. That everyone even started to feel proud of hating me.
The clip ends with a disturbing dialogue of her ‘regretting’ the things she had done in her life.
“Perhaps it’s time to end my meaningless struggle once all … just one quick stroke.”
Lee then picks up a knife with a slashing motion across her right wrist before video ends.
Is this the genuine reaction of somebody scarred by the attention and criticism her actions have engendered or just another attempt at infamy? You decide.
The Alvivi duo topped news everywhere after a video of their sex-capades went viral last year. As a result, Tan lost his law scholarship at the National University of Singapore.
They returned in July, causing a stir with a provocative Ramadan Facebook posting, where they wished Muslims 'selamat berbuka puasa dengan bak kut teh… wangi, enak, menyelerakan' (happy breaking fast with bak kut teh aromatic, tasty, appetizing). Bak kut the, a famous pork dish, was pictured with the halal logo.
The post got them into more trouble, getting them charged under the Film Censorship Act, Penal Code and Sedition Act in July.
They are due for trial on Dec 5 and 6.
