SINGAPORE: After the controversy, legal action could follow. One of the main sponsors of the Miss Singapore World 2009 pageant has sent lawyers’ letters to organiser ERM World Marketing. Young And Healthy said in a press release on Tuesday that it "has been affected in its business and suffered losses" due to the "uncertainty" over Ms Ris Low’s replacement in next month’s finals in South Africa. The beauty supplements company said there were "questions which needed to be answered", such as whether ERM knew of Ms Low’s conviction for credit card fraud before it was reported in the press on September 25.

Acting for the sponsor, Clifford Law had written to ERM last Friday, and extended the deadline for ERM’s reply from Monday to Tuesday. The organiser has since replied through its lawyers, but Young And Healthy claimed their questions "were not answered". Clifford Law’s Michael Loh told MediaCorp that ERM will be "accorded a reasonable period" to respond further. When contacted, ERM events director Tracy Lee declined further comment. The one—page statement ended with: "Our clients will weigh their options accordingly." One of the options, said Mr Loh, would be to sue ERM.

This would ne a good legal case to watch if it ever reaches the court for trial.

ERM neglience is quite obvious but needs to be proven. If the suit proceed, it might end up in a 'Sponsor sue ERM, ERM the participant'

Which means Ms Ah Low will face a suit!

How nice!:D

That is what happen when a sinkie tries to be in the limelight. When your character is questionable ( obviously), you should lay low and save others from trouble.

IMO, Ris low should go ahead to represent sinkieland as she is a perfect example of how a sinkie behave.

this is something they wouldn't want to answer because they have been lying.

Her appeal to travel to South Africa for the Miss World pageant was to have been heard yesterday. But it has been dropped since she had resigned, said her lawyer, Mr Sng Kheng Huat.

my paper understands that as part of the appeal, pageant organiser ERM World Marketing had written to her probation officer to seek permission for her to travel. The letter, which appears to have been signed by ERM event director Tracy Lee, was dated Aug 18 - more than a month before my paper broke the news of her conviction.

ERM had earlier told The New Paper that it did not know about her conviction until the media broke the news. Miss Low initially said that she told ERM about her offence after being crowned, but later agreed with ERM that she did so after it made the headlines.

Obviously, you are NOT sure about the time frame of how events take place.

If Ms Ah Low did sign to participate on the terms of ERM conditions where there is a condition that convicted person cannot take part but only revealed to ERM later about the conviction and ERM decide to hide it then ..

Ms Ah Low IS in deep shit!:D

Obviously you are NOT sure what are my points.

I am talking about "The beauty supplements company said there were "questions which needed to be answered", such as whether ERM knew of Ms Low’s conviction for credit card fraud before it was reported in the press on September 25. "

I am talking about whether ERM knew it before 25th Sep when the press report it, not talking about they knew it when Ris Low sign up as a participant.

The final is on the 31st July, no one knows when she sign the contract as a winner, but definitely before 18 Aug. Ris Low reveal to the organiser because she need them to appeal for her to go to Africa. And ERM send the letter of appeal dated 18 Aug. Press report is 25th Sep and ERM claim that they knew nothing about it until Press report.

This is the lying part, get it?

So who is the one NOT SURE ABOUT THE TIME FRAME?

so simple so clear yet still have to be spoonfed...

what do you mean by "it might end up in a 'Sponsor sue ERM, ERM the participant.'"

Mr Kelvin Koh - founder and chief executive of Young and Healthy health supplements - says the winner should be able to hold her own in English on stage.
Ms Low would not have been his first choice as winner, he points out. 'It's really important that you have good speaking skills when you are representing Singapore on the world stage.'

Newspaper reported that sponsors spent $3,000 to $10,000.

ERM obviously knew of her conviction before it was published in the papers. But they took no action till many days after it was publicized.

And yes, the sponsor could sue ERM. I hope they do.

I do recall that ERM World did make a statement to the effect that they don't know anything about the Ris Low conviction until published in MyPaper and contacted by reporters for comment.

You are a God damn moron.

Better still a twit, is what Sammy would call you.

Read my post again and again.

It has nothing to do with your 18 th Aug or 25th of Sept.

It is when Ah Ms Low sign the 'toilet paper' to participate, that the condition is that she must not have a conviction but she perfer NOT to declare it then to ERM.

This is a good proof that ERM is lying. If the sponsor start to sue, this point will be good for them to win.

But the result most probably will be an out of court settlement, with details unknown to the public, as usual.

I'll say he didn't get te mileage! for that much money, he could've fuck her for a few months! In another word, he didn't get his cocks worth of screws from the cheating bitch.

Geeze...she's looks like a piece of triple-layered lard of pork from the kway chap stall. My advice to Singapore is forget it, can't make it, don't need to make a joke out of it. Admit the fact that all Singapore girls are ugly before you can help some of them to be beautiful again.
