You forgot to quote Exodus 17 : 14, where God promised to wipe out all memory of the Amalek tribe. That was likely centuries ago before 1 Samuel.

What's so surprising about it? The quranic scriptures were copied here and there from Biblical verses. So, you don't get a full picture of the Bible from the quran. Just bits and pieces here and there. And naturally, there's no mention of 'Israel' anyway in the quran.

By the time mahomet heard of the jewish religion, the country of Israel was long conquered by the Romans. So naturally, he didn't hear of Israel and so, no mention of it.
