During the last election, the PAP explained its ultra stringent selection process for the candidates it fielded during the last General Election. All Singaporeans were very impressed by this no stones uncovered form of scrutinisation of its election candidates to ensure Singaporeans will be served with MPs of Integrity, Intelligence and Intensity!

At the same time, the PAP warned all Singaporeans (that includes Low TK) that the WP has no transparent selection process and is simply plucking any Tom, Dick and Harry off the streets without due diligence. Background checks by the WP are also superficial if done at all. The PAP also warned all Singaporeans (that includes Low TK FYI) that should these shady characters be elected by any of the constituencies, the residents will live to regret and repent for the next 5 years.

The warnings by the PAP went unheeded by true enough, the residents of Hougang will live to regret for voting for a phianderer. And don't try to come up with the excuse that the residents of Hougang and Low TK didn't know better. The PAP had already warned them.

Sam Tan was put forth by the PAP as a candidate in GE2011. On Nomination Day, he withdrew, causing a huge commotion among the PAP ranks to find a last-minute substitute for him.
