american reality tv is never the same without the contributions of simon cowell of idol fame, nigel of do you think you can dance fame, pierce morgan of america got talent fame. pierce morgan goes on to take over iconic larry king's cnn job. i was wrong. instead of american pop culture dominating the british landscape, british personalities are dominating the american mediascape. a decade from now, we americans will learn to speak with a british accent. all local bay area tv stations have at least one british-accented personality in the news. the queen needs to be less anxious.

there were no disgrace and shambles with the opening. it went graciously and flawlessly. gracious for the brits to display dirt, filth, dust, smog, chaos that came with the industrial revolution. and flawless for them to spell every country correctly.

That i agree was pretty awesome. I like the start, it is only when they start playing their movie, when it goes downhill for me.

enjoyed the "movie" parts. first time ever for an opening to merge both "movie" and live event as a seamless showcase. extremely difficult to execute, but danny did it. it wowed the audience, and caused much chuckles among the stands as the queen turned around. folks who were there in the stadium actually identified with each character on screen, and all the mini "movies" came together, culminated and consummated at the stadium. from make believe to live. genius!

there's the mound in the middle, the mound to the left for flags, the live show, parachutes, giant rings, drummers, people in dirty clothes, folks in funeral clothes, nannies and babies, harry potter characters, mary poppins characters, the torch relay, contingents, lighting of cauldron, raising the flag, sir paul, kobe byrant, lebron james, etc.

i am just referring the mr bean segment, during the whole segment, nothing happen in the stadium except the video clip. Take a look at china opening, never you seen a part where there is nothing for so long. always people moving from sequence to sequence, masterfully merge from one segment to another.

oh just because it is funny, it is a great olympic opening. No. It takes more than that.
