If I remember correctly, GCT's salary as PM in the early 1990s was S$50k per month, so that's S$600k per year; other Ministers below DPM probably earned less than half that amount at that time, so it must have been even lower during the early 1980s when:

Committed suicide while on bail. LKY probably felt betrayed after publicly praising Teh. A good slap indeed.

Teh was never on bail as he was never charged, He was being investigated and before any charges were laid, he killed himself. He always said he was innocent until he died. He was a nice grandfatherly sort of chap.

My understanding was that Old Fart informed Teh he was going to be charged and they have the evidence, and suggested Teh to take the Chinese gentleman's way out and kill himself or his family will be persecuted if he insist on going to a trial. It was never about the money. Old Fart and the other ministers and his own family were taking bribes hand over fist. Nassim Jade HPL condos were just the tip of the iceberg. SO, how can it be over money bribes? Teh was the bag man for the Lees and other PAP high rankers. He went around to all the developers to pick up the bribe money from the contracts awards and than split it with old fart and the rest of the gang. What enraged Old Fart was that the Kweks (of the Hong Leong Group who were one of the development companies giving bribes) exerted so much control over Teh, that he would leave the office and meet them anywhere they demanded. Old Fart could not stand the idea that other people had as much control over his minister as he did. That is why he decided to fix Teh. And he held a grudge against the Kweks for years, even today they don't have a banking license.

Ever ask yourself why he was being investigated for taking $1 million in bribes? The $1 million sum is so exact, so chun? Its impossible. Its more believable if the CPIB say he took $1,053,296 or some other inexact number. The $1 million was thrown out there to impress and encourage public outrage against Teh. The truth will never be known now. All the old shits that were part of it are dead or dying off.

Pneumonia Mean fluid in lungs? So doc will poke tube into chest cavity to draw fluid? The antibiotic will be pump into the arsehole vein via iv drip? Then the iv need to change every 3 days to prevent infections. Also put catheter into dick which also may cause complications. Feed thru tube via the nose. Lie motionless for a month can cause bed sores, what ever left the remaining muscles will be wasted. Even recover, quality of life totally gone.

CPIB raided his home at Bukit Tunggal one evening in Nov 1986 and a couple of days after AG proceeded to charge him he committed suicide on 14th Dec 1986.

For awarding the plot of land to my Indonesian friend who did not put in the highest bid at Cecil Street to build GB Building, he was paid S$2m.

After he killed himself, his wife Luna Teh together with her two children ran off to Australia with a S$20m loot.
