LKY in ICU thread.

Re: Dictator of S'pore, Lee Con You in hospital for severe pneumonia, dying soon. Yip

Unlike previous admissions, he was heli-casevac into the ICU. The previous admissions have always been unannounced. If it was just another health scare, it is unlikely that an announcement would have been made. This is especially given LHL's prostate cancer operation which took place about a week AFTER he was admitted.

The fact that an announcement was made so long after admission suggest that the doctors think that there is a high chance that he will not make it. The announcement should therefore be seen in the light of preparing the ground for his passing.

It is likely that they will abide by his wishes and not keep him in a vegetative state. Unlike his wife who was not a public figure, it will be impossible to hide the fact that he is in a coma for an extended period of time - people will start to talk if he is not seen up and about.

heli-casevac ? What is the distance between SGH and Oxley road ? Or he was in an offshore island?

It was apparently serious enough that they opted to use the helicopter that is on 24x7 stand-by.

...my friends are speculating that the Lees will keep old fart on life support for a few years even though he may be brain dead....
If that happens, then LKY will stop being an MP from the next General Election onwards, possibly from this year onwards.

So you don't have to worry about:
... the real reason why he has not resign or retired is that as long as he is a MP, he can get all his medical bills and hospital room paid for. If they decide to keep him on life support for the next 3 years even after he is brain dead, the taxpayers have to foot the bill. I estimate $5000 a day for the taxpayer to keep this vampire in life support. Class A1 is $850 a day, then have to add speclalist and consultant fee, nursing care cost, chest x rays, tests, etc. Taxpayers better get ready to shell out $1.85 million a year to keep this shit on life support. I hope they don't continue to pay him his bloody salary at the same time.

Since when does being brain dead prevent someone from standing for elections?

Oops, I forgot there are exceptions, such as LKY!

It is appointed unto man once to die. Grow old, fall ill and die... such is the fate that awaits every person.
You left out the more important JUDGMENT:

Hebrews Chapter 9

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment

I thot they only allow that in NZ and Toa Payoh!

Re: Dictator of S'pore, Lee Con You in hospital for severe pneumonia, dying soon. Yip

Judgment after death is a statement of faith. The inevitability of death is an observable fact.
I just wanted to complete the exact King James Bible verse I thought you were quoting from, that's all. :)

People will certainly be talking a lot if LKY becomes the world's first-ever brain-dead politician "standing" for any election! haha

Make a life-sized effigy of LKY and place it seated in Parliament. All MPs and ministers must bow to the effigy before speaking.

The only way he can return to Cabinet/Parliament is if he rises from the dead, not if he's still brain-dead:

He must have been "drunk" from "drinking" in so much power.
