HAs anyone in HH encountered defect being rejected by developer ? I reported a chipped WC . It is just two very minor chipped off on the side which was spotted by my spouse while celaning it. Make a report more than 1 month and they have not come back to me. Asked me to be present to inspect but I told them I already pasted stickers pointing out the spots. After a few more days , they came back and informed me that it is my renovation fault, so it is rejected. I know that could not be true as no renovation were done in that toilet till now. I guess it must be a hassle to change a WC for a minor chipped side. Would like to hear from anyone else has similiar experience.

Ok, there are at least 6 SG guys who have multiple properties in HH that i know of. Some of them had defect problems and asked me for help. I also encountered defects but 99% was always fixed within 2 weeks. Recently however, they did not do one of mine .

To cut a long story short, there was a pretty bad guy who has since been transferred out. Another bad egg(this junior one was worse) was asked to go. The replacements for the original guys at the township just simply cannot make it.

One thing here is that you should have been there though when they came onsite to inspect, that way you could refute any such nonsense directly. I must say they are much better than most developers though, there are many who won't even come to check on the defects.

I suggest you raise this defect again and pester them since its affecting you. They do care(new team), i guess its because a lot of guys are suddenly buying and/or then moving in within the last few months. I understand some people are bothering them with very superficial/little things so its bogging things down quite a bit but at least now things are moving.

If they won't take your case, i can refer you folks who will help you. Show them all the receipts from your contractor for work done which does not affect the toilet. Take photos if necessary.

From the next 2 weeks onwards though with the new replacement who is much better, you should see a much faster response.

Yes there is, for electronics, not for furniture as far as i am aware. Then again, if you are in expensive SG, why would you need/want to move furniture to MY unless for sentimental reasons/values? The average home furniture there are much cheaper and even if you want modern/high end or teak/red wood furniture, its cheaper there too.

It is ok unless there are some bumi restrictions, check on the property details first before committing. I don't think there is except if he took out a bank loan then he has a lock in period.

Oh don't need to apply leave, just call them mostly. Emails are good but mails done the old way is good too. Yes, please keep trying and i am sure they will do something.

We tried taking the bus aka CW3 from JE. It took about 45mins to Aeon Shopping Centre and only 30mins from Terminal to JE. I guess without them re routing to the village. JE has alot of buses my parents need, to go to Bukit Panjang and Orchard Road. It even has buses to my workplace like hougang. Except no buses to Compasspoint.

WE have exquisite taste on chandeliers and velvet furnishing however as told by my wife we have to pop by to KL to purchase? Is this true? Also on the bus trip I saw alot of auto shop non do conti cars and michellin tyres. Do you know where?

We got a few quotes from local movers to shift most of our furniture to JB not cheap. At least 2k. Sigh...

Hopefully by this week I can get approval from bank to join you guys. Damn escape the taxman in SGP, suffer the bankman everywhere.

We are moving to HH permanently while I run my business in Singapore. The army rarely call me for reservist. So I think I can leave that out.
However after reading the forum here
I am concern with permits. Since I am living most of my time in HH and work to SGP every 4 days. Do I need some kind of permit for me to stay in HH for lets say 1 year without stamping out my passport?

Also do you guys have the link for me to apply for the automated clearance passport as I think I still need to travel back to SGP for work.

When and how to meet you guys to chit chat? I am signing the SAP this coming week. Hopefully the banks cleared my papers and 2 months down the road I shall be a proud owner of HH facing the golf and seeping my coffee and toast.

Right now there is a sense of fear and fulfillment. Fear for crime rates pertaining to areas in JB and new living environment. Fulfillment as I finally get to live in a semi d which will never happen in SGP.

There are corresponding stories in SG for almost every bad one in MY, i was just doing that to put things in perspective.

If you are going to go back to SG once every 4 days, then there should be no VISA required as a normal visit gives you 30 days in a row. Going back to SG resets it back. It will be easier if you have the MACS:

So I guess I save $1035.081 in road tax. But that is per year however as I need to enter Singapore every 4 days. I was told it is $20 per entry if using malaysia car.

Outstanding Balance for my current car is $132k, but on the open market it is selling only at $98k a paper loss of $34k.
A new car selling at $333987 RM = 142,680.19 SGD + above = $176680.19 SGD.

So I guess no savings but inccured more debts. However if the road tax per year save is more then the charges per entry to Singapore via Malaysia car should be a good motivated? Anyone care to enlighten me on this aspect of cost?

Current insurance is $2200 with 30% NCD. Haven got a quote for malaysia car.

My wife believe with life you have a future, savings on car is a no no thats y the conti. Beside audi less target.

You can actually get a cheap MPV with good features, etc for as low as 20 plus k SGD. You can't drive a MY car into SG though if you are a SG citizen or a SG PR. Its SG law. Either you keep a SG car (sell your conti and buy a Korean/Jap or look at alternative forms of transport such as the CW3)

They restrict it to only parts of the country gazetted for foreign use. You can't buy land (safely) otherwise. Agricultural land is also a no no unless you set up a company to purchase it. Houses wise, we can only buy those above 2 storeys, 3 storeys for shop houses. Now though for residential properties, you will need to purchase above $500k RM.

By the way, saw the condo launch they had for HH. Its a bit expensive and i would think small but seems there are still lots of folks keen to have a look.

Was really crowded on Sunday when i was there but i thought it would be no longer possible for foreigners to buy, maybe HH pushed back the 500k limit or something? Quite nice though the condos, called Fairway Suites, as the name implies has a pretty nice and commanding view of the golf. Very breezy too.

Yes then it is possible as it can be done in their name.
I would say shop houses but most are already very expensive now so pretty unattainable. If i were local or my wife was though, it would be a no brainer to get a shop house especially since locals can get single and double storey ones. Check and get those that allows the 2nd or third floor to be usable for residential purposes and stay on the 2nd or third floor.

Yes, quite a few properties comes with basement, mainly those on the hills have this feature. Its also sometimes due to height or number of stories permitted like in the case of places like Leisure farm. Having a basement is good but would be better if the house is sited on a hill.

Firstly, i do not have a trade, this is not my job and its definitely not yours to police the internet. Secondly, from now, do whatever you like. People are not blind, they can see for themselves whether the same things has occured in Singapore especially the first 2. If they are so blind anyway, like what folks has said, they deserve Singapore. More good years ahead and more power to you!

From the start, you have nothing to contribute or good to say about almost anything, be it migration or living in JB. Instead of always questioning others motives, maybe its time to reflect? Do the rich ang mo really mix with the locals in SG? I am very happy to mix and integrate but there has never been any recommendations in this thread to ask people not to mix with the locals so i am not sure where that came from.

Yes, agree with you on that. This thread provides useful information for those who wished to seek a move or buy a property across the causeway. I always check this thread for updates or news that i can use regarding living in Malaysia, property issues, etc etc.

For those who have doubts about this thread, it is all about the freedom of choice, I like it, i come in. If i don't like it, i stay away. I guess all of us had practiced due diligence when it comes to making our own decision. I read about all the negative news about Malaysia everyday in the papers but that hasn't deter me from staying here for the past 3 years. There are obvious pros and cons in every country we chose to settle, it all depends on your priority in life and what place your priority on. For me, i prefer the space, freedom and higher quality of life in Malaysia as compared to SG. Yes, higher crimes, dirtier streets, mad traffic jams (KL) etc in Malaysia but i guess i can live with it. Crimes? It happens even in SG, In Malaysia, take the necessary precaution and stay alert. Dirtier streets? If i really cannot take it, i would had stay put in SG. Traffic jams? Its ok, i schedule my time accordingly and also plan my journey and avoid certain bottlenecks. It really is that simple!
