You can drive a G-plate SG van into MY provided you have registered a legitimate business entity in MY and the vehicle has passed inspection with JBJ.

As a Singaporean, you cannot drive a MY-registered vehicle into SG but I heard you can appeal with LTA if you meet certain criteria but this is unfounded.

Cannot lah , as long as our beloved gov did not make money from you , dont need to talk one . Otherwise COE wont be hitting 100K liao , haha .
Very unlikely we peasants can out smart them . They might even come out some policies to discourage citizens living in JB some time in future .

Hi Vincent77,

a warm welcome to you, feel free to ask any questions you have regarding living in JB. Do keep us posted on your trip as well. =)

Thank you for the welcome. Need to do some background homework too since there seems like quite a few properties for us to look it. HH looks interesting though.

You really should  You'll be surprised.

P.S I am Not a property agent too  (repeating after Cathylmg )
Nor am I working for IRDA.
Nor am I working for Mr Khaw (if you know what I mean hahahaha )
Nor am I a crook luring and waiting to rob you after CIQ.
Nor am I the boss of a Malaysian reno company.

Maybe I should use the above as my signature lah

Not surprised actually. I'm a frequent traveller into M'sia. My fiancee is from Penang and we go into JB very often. Think 80% of my passport chops are for M'sia.

As a general guide, will you be able to say, recommend me like 3 places for me to take a look? Seems like HH is mentioned pretty often here though.

Hi Sanur, firstly I would build the tree house myself on a strong, big mango tree. And it would be a small, simple tree house with windows and a door. So the cost would be quite low, only need to pay for the planks and some screws, nails, hinges, etc.

But i do understand that some ppl are willing to pay to avoid the hassle and if I'm one of them, the max I would pay is RM500-800... I would make it smaller too, maybe 6x6ft, with a single door and 3 windows... just my opinion.

Those who will be there, please help me to take a picture of the sales table with the green and red stickers as we check the price for 2508sqft unit for high floor.

Many thanks in advance,
PH

I think is perfectly fine, as the delivery man need to report to guardhouse n exchange for the pass. We are living in community not a prison compound, u can't stop those delivery man coming in to deliver gas, parcel...etc. Just to take some precaution like we owner need to inform the guard in advance. I believe in HH, they also allow food delivery as well.

Oic thanks for sharing. I just think that there's a need for security to be tighter in Malaysia as compared to Singapore. Cos break-ins with parangs do happen in Johor and it's not really as rare as one might think. Our friend Mallow here already had her house broken into for the 3rd or 4th time, and the last one was the above kind of senerio which I've stated. Pls don't get me wrong, everyone wants and prefers different kinds of security level. I won't insist on my own preference and causing inconvenience to all my neighbours, I'll just follow the choice of majority. I'll just spend money to ensure my own added security with grilles, sensors etc. Afterall, this is community living and I hope to have a friendly one too. Plus I'll only be using it for weekend stay.

After hearing from you, I can accept this for the convenience of others in EL. I just hope that the security will not be too complacent as time past. To tell you the truth, I had once managed to gain entry into phase one at night, around 8pm, just by telling the guards that we were going to meet an agent inside. They let us in even though the agent had not arrived. While waiting inside phase one, we drove around the whole compound and the guards didn't even bother.

We did the same at Leisure Farm once and guess what, after sneeking into one of the very big bungalow precinct and roaming around freely for about 10 mins, the Gurkha guards came in 2 vehicles to intercept us and escorted us out. That's the kind of professionalism I hope EL's security can possess

Have a great day future neighbour

Re: To Wuqi advise needed

i a bit kiasi, use the steering lock plus the stick shift/handbrake lock at all times. so far sg customs have not stopped me for trouble.
That's good to know; coz once we start staying in HH, we'll buy a steering lock and use it whenever we park the car... just to lessen the temptation of stealing the car. Even though the car comes with immobilizer, I rather not have them break the window to "try" to steal the car.

hahaha...u all must be reading too much of Enid Blyton's books in your younger days... dreaming of building tree house ... i just want a football field outside the house and a space for garden parties and bbq under the stars (if any) ...if there is a pond, that will be a bonus ... no need a pool ... pool table maybe ... let us dream on
Yes checkers, I used to read a lot of those books and I also had a tree platform in my garden when I was young. So now dream bigger, wanna have a tree house. A pool table will be nice too... I wonder how much does it cost?

Hi investor,

Curious, u managed to sneak in LF? Even tou, there is no way to gain entry to various precinct as need access card to have gate open, n each time per vehical. Yes, the Gurhka guards n their patrolling very very on. I need to know if they lax, as once my precinct gate not working, they station a guard there whole day till it was fix. Sorry, I buy due to strict security and my mum stays at her place alone with all windows n doors open. That's the basic I would except n they know.

Temasek, Khazanah Said to Seek S$5 Billion in Property Loans

Read More: http://www.businessweek.com/news/20...id-to-seek-s-5-billion-in-property-loans.html

Nov. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Temasek Holdings Pte and Khazanah Nasional Bhd., the state-owned investment companies of Singapore and Malaysia, hired banks to arrange S$5 billion ($3.9 billion) of property development loans, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Eight lenders will contribute to the five-year bullet facility, which will pay a so-called all-in fee of 100 basis points over benchmark rates, one of the people said yesterday, asking not to be identified as details are private.

Khazanah and Temasek said in June they would jointly develop $9.8 billion of projects in southern Malaysia and Singapore.

We went to Leisure Farm last year(or year before last) as we've booked the holiday home for a weekend. As we were in LF's compound, we were driving around and taking pictures. We noticed that the gate/barrier(looks like some kind of side gate for contractors) of one of the precinct was opened so we immediately drove in and went around taking pictures of the bungalows. After like 10 mins of free and easy exploration, the head of guards came with his team of guards to intercept our vehicle and escorted us out of that precinct. I remember that the precinct is right beside another precinct with canals or small stream, it is a precinct for own building of bungalows just like Ledang Heights. It's located on the left hand side, after the ultra big bungalows aligned along the left side after guardhouse.
