I am also one of your kind. Just to keep some inform( thou, I might b the only ignorant one. For the two days I stayed in LF, I uses my iPhone to read n post few messages in thus forum, today got a call from singtel informing me that my bill will b 500 plus fr that two days as I hv no plan (not sure wat plan they r talking about) so beware .

eh bro..are you able to buy some sort of medical insurance...something like our incomeshield..covering hospitalization.

If they are avail to Singaporeans, it will be quite reassuring..

Our medical insurance in SG is currently covering all the visits to clinic/hospitals here. Even my company covers that and last i checked, my family and myself are definitely Singaporean.

Some hospitals already allow the use of medisave in Malaysia, not only for Johor but even Malacca as well. Seems quite a number of hospitals already allows but not for outpatient.

Aiyo, make sure you turn off data roaming and start using wifi.. If you still want to use iPhone to serve net, get a data bridge alliance package.. But not worth it... Or buy a maxis or any prepaid Internet sim card at $6 per day if you need Internet on your mobile..

Haha linked, I noticed Sanur's humor too :D I bought EL too, you're staying there and commuting to Sg for work daily? Are you Singaporean?

Hi neighbour, yes Im a singaporean we drive to sg every morning for work and son's school quite tiring but my wife love staying here for the peace and space.

thanks bro..went to read my incomeshield conditon just now...in it its stated

"If an insured person requires inpatient hospital treatment resulting from an emergency while overseas, we shall reimburse the actual hospital..."

So must be emergency...which for me its good enough. last time din bother about this clause cos seldom go overseas...

cheers.

For sure no issues if your insurance has that clause. Never had any issues claiming insurance back from my company or personal one in Singapore.
On the contrary, the lady processing my claims was so pleased as we saved their company money by doing this in MY.

Hi Linked,

how abt getting mozzi nets? We are using different type of mozzi net for different area. The magnet type for fix location like the door grills and toilet windows.. and we use the corrugated sliding type for access areas, like window, sliding doors and stuff.

Looks very neat, keep the bugs out while still able to enjoy the nice breeze.

Thanks Kennyc will definitely try the magnet type but looking to try out sanur's "solution" as my wife love gardening and my son love playing outdoor. ;)

Hi just wonder, sultan seems to have a place in all developments ( ???)
And they get rid of it soon. Wonder "how" much do they "pay" for it
Haha Sis I had mentioned on this before but was reminded not to make any comment on it. I tried to delete the post I had wrote but not sure why I can't. If you look back then you know the answer

We frequent this Koh brothers clinic along Nusa Bestari... its normally a bit crowded... but the doctor is a very down to earth and nice guy. He always make a point to explain the sickness and how he will treat you. This is quite a contrast from the SG doctors many of whom lack the personal touch. Generally a less competitive environment => more human touch.

That's really 'Kill people, set fire and pluck people's bone man!'
Nowadays many service providers cap the data roaming charge at $15/day.

serai is lemon grass, you can buy them in bundle from the orang asli, or you can buy them at any of local pasar raya. cut the top green part away, wash the rest wats remaining.

pound and flatten the white stem potion, put it inside the water and boil them for like a hour to get the taste out, u can also add in some ginger as well. when its done, u can add in some sugar according to personal preference. This is bit more troublesome, the easier way is to drink the elder flower mixture.

Hi kennyc, thanks for the info on serai drink and sliding mosquito nets.

Yah that's also why it's mostly the poorer people from poorer countries who are more filial than those from developed countries.
It's sad that as our world is progressing economically, we're experiencing a regression in human values and social ethic.

I better teach my future children to just be contented, live simply, ask for less, give more, cherish family etc instead of pressuring them to be competitive from young with Cambridge English tuition, some increase intelligence course, Piano, Ballet, Math tuition, nian nian kao di yi (year year no. one in class)
But to achieve that, I think I have to start teaching myself to be contented first :p

Bro , need to make appointment ? can we simply drive in there in time of an emergency, even for foreigner like us ?
My experience so far:
1. Service is good but variety of doctors is quite limited;
2. Surgeries are at least 4 times less expensive than similar services in Singapore.
3. Rooms are nice and clean, food for inpatients is reasonably good.
4. Appointment of walk in but waiting time can be quite long for a busy doctor.
5. Walk in patients are welcome while emergency treatment is available 24/7.

At least you're staying very near to 2nd Link's CIQ mah ;) So you rent out your property in Singapore?

While others were thinking, 'Where is AP?' I was wondering, 'Where is Contra?' Haha welcome back :)
Thanks for sharing your knowledge about FX and I've learnt a great deal from you, PH, Lastresort, Wuqi, Yonglip and others who contributed in just the last 2-3 pages ;)

Just like you, I didn't bet on rental yield(Lastresort should know that thru our PM :)) I was only betting on capital appreciation since last year.

But you might have mistaken that I'm betting on appreciation of ringgit. I know nothing about FX and factors which affect it so I've never bet on ringgit.
My bets are almost just the same as you guys, the bullish and ambitious ones here, other than some points which I didn't see but you guys did.
So thanks everyone for sharing your knowledge.

Hi bro Investor,

Has been a bit crazy these days at work with the volatile economic environment and the budget period in corporate-land. Decided to take a break in JB to escape the madness & to get to know the different areas of JB a bit more intimately. It did me a whole lot of good (but not so for my waist :).

My weekend in JB;

I dropped by JB last weekend to visit the Persada Home Fair. Only one floor and not as many vendors as I was expecting. So next time must go for the big one in October. Anyway was good to see the vendors to set my own expectations on what to expect to buy, vendor contacts & brochures and prices as well, in prep for my house next year.

Stayed the weekend in Mutiara Hotel in Taman Abad (Century) near KSL. I enjoyed Mutiara more than Thistle. Got a good deal in Agoda which has two double beds and breakfast for MYR240 only. Mutiara is in the middle of all the bustle . Prefer this area to the city centre. Seems to be the 'in' hotel in town with its Saturday weddings & high tea and Sunday brunches. By the way I have never seen so many car wash concentrated in one place and only MYR8!.

The Japanese restaurant in Crystal Crown nearby is the best & authentic. Clientele mainly Japanese - did not realise there are so many of them working and staying in JB.

(Hi bro lastresort,
you should visit this restaurant for the waitresses all around your age, ....er, I mean the reasonable-priced good food :)

Before I went to JB, I did some research and planned to eat at Cheelicous (that sis Skippy was referring to) and also Giani Tratorria (also on the following website). http://gowhere.woohoo.com.my/1700/cheelicious/

Unfortunately I ran out of stomach space because on Sunday I went to Jusco Tebrau. I love the Jusco layout (same as Bukit Indah) and shop tennants mix than KSL.

So if anyone can give a food review on the Cheelicous and Gianni Trat or others, pls let us know.

In the meantime thanks to the stronger SGD, the meals tasted a whole lot nicer and fresher (as the ingredients & air always are indeed in JB, vs Spore).

Hi friends,

I could not believe my eyes when I noticed that in just 2 days, 12 pages have sped past. That makes it 6 pages a day. Is insane.

In the old days (just a year ago), lucky to be 2 pages per day .... esp more when AP was on a roll (by the way, where is he? hope he is ok)

This is how a market gets started and goes beyond a tipping point and takes a life of its own onwards.

(If only the Chinese did not mess with the number 4, we would be maybe 60+ in the House-Investment list already)....
