Thanks - will try to whatsapp this guy. But if anyone who has legitimately used any reliable mover service personally (and the price is very reasonable / good ), please do let me know. it will be good for the long run.

Just recollect from my memory of the experience of mover from Ecboy, who used to post regularly in the forum. Below is what he posted in Oct 2016 about his personal experience moving from Sg to JB.

"Avoid CHL at all cost. They are rude and aggressive and resort to arm twist u for more money even though price was agreed on earlier. They behave like they are the only spore-jb mover available. Try this mover JJ +6582335651. Very reliable, friendier and definitely much cheaper than CHL.

I used Shift Trading at the end. Straight forward, no value added service, just 3 dudes came to wrap all the boxes, load and go. RM1K from central SG to JB town, door to door. 9am pickup and drop-off at 2pm.

I moved like a full 10ft truck load with various items (their truck is a big 20 footer)

Hey AHGS14,

Thanks a lot. RM1K seems reasonable as so far quotes i am getting is from SGD 400 - SGD 600. However I am curious. You advise to try JJ, but in the end you used Shift Trading? Why didn't you try JJ as well?

I don't have an answer to your question. The bottom part is what I "copy and paste" from Ecboy who posted it in Oct 2016. Nobody asked the question and therefore no reasons given by him then. I suppose you can post the question to him directly.

Ah ic, my bad, i didn't realize it was a "copy and paste" referral. Thanks for the info.

Hi Guys,

Does anyhow know where to buy those Portable Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink in Johor? (https://goo.gl/images/Zz5P92) To get it in Singapore is so easy, there are so many shops selling it like hoekee.com, but i try to google and find it in Johor, it's so hard to find. I have emailed around 6 kitchen cabinet contractors, and none have it. Does anyone have any idea? Would really appreciate if someone can provide a few suppliers where I can purchase from. Thank you.

Have you found your portable sink? If not, you may be able to find it in Homepro at Paradigm mall

Hi AHGS,

Much appreciated for your response. It's so easy to find these abundantly available in Singapore, but I am sure having an extremely tough time trying to find them in Johor! Thanks again - will be checking them out.

Well I do hope the sharing (Good and Bad) will continue. Learn lots from those who have shared... Both Owners and Investors.
Anyway since when JB weekend got no jams! Hahahaha

Coming back to this forum shortly and will be spending some time. Lots of jams recently, guess with school holidays coming soon it will be worse.
As a word of caution, please avoid JB for this week as will be lots of jams due to the elections, my 2cents to help ease the congestion and let the folks do
their duty to their country.

Am curious about one thing. For Sgreans living/retired to JB, are you mostly staying there on the MM2H visa? Or are you using the Macs card and have to do the border run every month?

Yes for myself, mainly do border run but as i go in to SG quite often for work, i hardly go by more than a few days without going back in. For those who are above a certain age or in old age home, there are ways for the old age homes/immigration to help you with the passport stamp (legally)

You are referring to those who are too frail to do the border run themselves and have somebody else do it for them? Or is there a special category of visa they hold? AFAIK, only MM2H visa allows foreigners extended stay in Msia (other than other usual visas like work visa etc which most SGrean retirees, for example, wouldn't qualify).

With the new State and Federal government after the GE14, new policies will be implemented.
Dr M had way earlier sounded out about the massive Chinese development in JB and not exactly in a positive way.
So, seriously look out for announcements, they may or may not have any impact to your properties or investment.
He is abolishing the GST probably very soon but Federal govt. has to make up the income shortfall by other means.........but from where?

Passed by the Greenland development in Danga Bay several times in different month this year and noticed that the construction is not progressing much.
Massive rust stains from steel reinforcement on concrete surfaces all over are tell-tale signs that work progress is stalling.

Normally the old age homes will do this for them and arrange for immigration officers to come by for stamping. Have seen some already doing this. Can check this report on The Star to make your enquiries:
Oic. Tks.

Recently when I went back home to JB with my family the CIQ officer said that we have no permit to stay in JB and can charge us with illegal staying. Is that just trying to scare us or is that really the case? We did not overstay the 30 days allowed by the social visit stamp per entry so I can't see where the illegal stay part is. Anyway the MM2H is not a financially feasible option for me now. Have you had the same experience before? Should remain calm or panic?

Do u have a property in JB? Are u staying there permanently or only use it as holiday home? If u are staying there permanently and rolling over the 1mth visa to do so, then strictly speaking it's not allowed. It's like foreigners trying to stay permanently in SG using 1mth tourist visa and doing border runs every mth.

I can't meet MM2H requirements liao as I no longer working. Maybe if I hv some contacts + tea money, I can get visa *cough* *cough*

Yes, have property in JB and living almost 5 years already without much issue.

Your recent encounter with CIQ officer, were u using passport stamp or Macs card? What I know is that if use Macs card, then safer as customs officer won't hv chance to go through your in/out stamps and notice u staying in JB permanently. But sometimes Macs system down and u need to go through officer. Haven't heard anyone kenna warning in latter case though.

You are probably right, we were mostly using stamping method, as only I have MACS.
