Coming in sg jam going to jb no jam on a public holiday? What happen to all the SGD? It makes me believe malaysian is the richer one come SG to spend spend spend....lol

Wow you really need an education on the check points, in reality, not that many Singaporeans go to JB, the massive jams are actually caused by MYsians driving SG registered cars and some Singaporeans coming back from the long weekend holidays and the Jiu Hu Kias returning back to earn the mighy SGD tomorrow.

Some Smart Elite out here blame the petrol warriors for the Jam. He also commented that he do not mind paying ERP of $6 in Singapore just for smooth traffic.

JIU HU Kia has the best of both world. The charges just come fast and mighty.

property prices drop by 50~90%?

30~max 50% maybe la

Not beyond 50% imho.

Good. That means almost RM 35 per day just on tolls and RM 800 per month.

Drivers are screwed. Most property prices will drop 50%-90% at least when the Spore-based investors or buyers stay in Singapore

Lets start riding in and out of JB.

it won't drop la. especially landed housing in areas dominated by locals. however, property market may become like a dead town, and you'll be stuck with the house for 20 years. just like in 1998-2008 in jb.

Assuming someone staying in JB and travel to Singapore everyday for work (23 weekdays per month).

Previously, his cost is RM2.90 X 23 at JB side and approx RM2.90 at Singapore side, making it a total of approx RM133/month.

If LTA match M'sia RM16.50 by implementing an equivalent RM16.50 at Singapore side and VEP is RM50 (worst case scenario), the cost will be (RM16.50 + RM16.50 + RM50) X 23 = RM1,909/month!!!! Yikes!

frankly the jb side doesnt care what reasons spore has in increasing the vep, what they know is theres plenty of cows to be milked and they want it too.

Form an association and lobby against it. If the sgp gov is indeed pushing retirement across the border they should not do this.

Likely to be rising fast up to early next year to counter inflation and GST. Once RTS is announced in 2015, these properties and those very near the RTS will continue with gradual climb. If RTS is not announced by then, most likely will be sluggish growth (3-5%) for another few years.

Now 2nd link opened up another lane at another side of the bridge to cope with surge in returning Singaporeans/PRs.

Toll increase at JB side is not confirmed yet. SG side has just informed JB of e intention to peg SG toll to JB toll. Nobody in JB dares to reply. Once implemented, BN will be guaranteed of election loss in 1-2 years' time.

1St August is just a couple of days away.
Let's see whether the Johor state will implement the toll charges.
It'll be very brave of them
