I had the same problem. I was charged over RM2,000 when I just took over the house. I then inquired to TNB and they told me that "stealing of electricity" was detected. I then explained that I'm the new owner (by showing them my title deed) and I won't know what the previous owner had done. Anyway, I gave the (fine) letter to the previous owner and he settled it eventually. Thereafter, everything is back to normal.RM4000 electricity bills? http://www.nst.com.my/streets/johor/duo-in-a-bind-over-tnb-bills-1.43551

Heard that there's some gadgets in the market which can slow down the electrical meter. This is of course illegal. What did they mean by stealing of electricity?

But I rejected the offer.
Not worth it.
Some improvements at Woodland customs. Came back from Malaysia last Sunday and went to the extreme left lane and was directed to lorry customs, I guess. There are more than 10 newly set up counters and officers are stationed at queues to check on vehicles while we are queuing for counter check. Can tell Singapore customs is doing something to improve the traffic. Good job.

Glad to know that they are trying to improve the traffic situation.
Also glad to know that there are so many Malaysians willing to pay new launch prices which I always thought were too high for the locals.
