Bro, is this for the foreigner levy? Setia absorbed this together with the MOT plus other discounts when I got my unit in 09..
EDTBA- Did you have to pay for the levy for Alphenor?

I did ask and the sales lady said the levy is not absorbed. Maybe I can ask again during the signing of the SPA but I am not hopeful.

I wish i can find out for the rude one but revenge is not the way forward.
The misinformation and lies are slowly fading, hence they have to try other
ways to dissuade others including doing things like that.

I am in as well, though i don't have that many points, i will up those who
have unfortunate experiences like that.

Some information to share on Zone E:

http://www.iskandarmalaysia.com.my/flagship-e-senai-skudai

Free Trade Zone Area:
http://www.senaiairport.com/pdf/senai-free-zone-park.pdf

Market Analysis
Industrial Development
Johor has 28 industrial areas for manufacturing and production plants. In Johor Bahru alone, there are a total of 4,008 hectares being developed for industrial purposes with the majority located near the Nusajaya-Senai-Skudai growth corridor. Most of the industries in Johor are from the electronics, petrochemical and textile/apparel sectors. Most of the export are destined to Japan, China and United States. With the move towards high tech and capital incentives export industries, Johor’s air cargo market is poised to benefit tremendously.

Its good to see SG govt speak up on issues affecting Singaporeans in JB. I don't recall such stance taken in the past. Cedric Foo is correct,..the current principle when dealing with relations between the 2 countries is to remove all forms of impediments. With the toll charges aimed squarely at SG vehicles, it runs counter to this basic principle. its like taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Now SG govt has made its position clear, MY govt will have to relook at the plans again else a tit for tat will result in more cans of worms being opened. And when that happens, the common folks who are just trying to navigate life's challenges will suffer in the end.

Cheers.

Agree, a learned neighbour says this has to do with the coming elections.

Guan dao is a halberd and in a sense a pole arm where a dao is a side arm.
Is it for wushu practice? You definitely don't need that (guan dao) for self defence.

Importing a live weapon (live blade, carbon/folded steel) to MY needs a lot of hassle.

To SG as well, you need an import license in advance else they will confiscate
it and you will have to go to A&E branch to let them inspect and collect it.
20 SGD for the license each time it comes in to SG. They will also check to see if its
sharpened, etc. To many, a sharp blade = dangerous blade. Not really true as even
a katana for Iaido practice can still pierce a person when used to stab.

For long term, its good to have an import license for these. Compound, recurve
bows have no issues. Chainsaws, yes you definitely need.

There was once a shop in Novena Square i think, they sold so many types of
heavy duty items in there that a Diablo 2 fan would go crazy.

If its wushu weapon, just have it wrapped and appropriately marked as such.
It will be much easier to get in and out.

Thanks for the reply bro wuqi.

So that means if I wrap it up properly I will have no issues from both of the custom?

Yap its for learning wushu purposes. Infact both my dd and ds will be learning wushu and I'm thinking of how to bring it in and out weekly in the near future. Will need to bring 2 guan dao all over the place. :P Slapping on my forhead for not taking this into account when I enrol them.

Yes, they were on the 3rd floor in the past, back then they had dedicated compound bows as well as recurve. Same owner for both.
He specialises in compound more but is competent enough to teach both. Compound gets easier even for those with some minor
disability as the cams will help you to hold the weight until you decide to left off.

One public annoucement about swords and bows:

NEVER buy a stainless steel weapon more than 12 inches long and use it for self defence - Anything more than 12 inches and made of stainless steel is brittle and unless its made of 440C stainless steel, it will be liable to shatter or break.

NEVER touch the blade of a real sword (carbon steel/folded steel) with your finger tips as it will corrode the sword. TV always teaches people crap about handling swords

NEVER test the keeness of a sword by sliding your finger tips over it especially with your thumbs, again i blame TV for this misinformation.

NEVER use a sword that rattles in its handle or if the hilt assembly is not stable.

There is no real Ninja sword, ancient ninjas used everything and even regular samurai swords as part of their job. Anything to get the job done.

NEVER draw a bow WITHOUT an arrow or a safety device and then let off, the bow may break or at least be severely damaged and may more than likely injure you. This is again another TV thing that tells you to draw and let off.

Wow! You are really a weapon expert! Thanks for the advice. Will keep it in mind.

If you wrap up properly and have declaration from the martial arts centre, it should be fine but you might still get awkward questions and over reacting customs officers.

Best to keep it at the centre in SG rather than bringing it around. They are also pretty useless as weapons for defense. With the exception of a few, all wushu practise weapons are pretty useless. Some even more uselss than a japanese boken used for training. At least for self defense, the boken is a good tool.

I know they (SG customs) tends to overreact because once one saw a butt of a toy gun belonging to my kid (those with flashing lights, sound and bits of foam inside jumping around) and questioned me very sternly + loudly and called so many people to the boot of my car without even checking properly. I just let him continue to see where it ends....

Everyone (except me) was tense and more guys came, two guys moved behind me just in case i ran. Then he very smugly pulled it out and everyone laughed......He became quite unhappy and checked my car very thoroughly after that, i just smiled.

And may I know how to train for competitions in JB? And its minimum age?

They have indoor (air conditioned) and outdoor ranges. Minimum is like 6 depending on the type of bow, etc.
Very good for strengthening ones focus. I never trained for competition anymore after one time my instructor asked me
to go to NUS for competition. Never told them why, even good buddies, never went to the 18 metre indoor range either.

Because of one reason, who do i represent when i get there?
