Yes. expected this to happen as present arrangement is unsustainable once major development (Indah walk - office and retail, sky exec condo, jusco cinema...) gets completed. Its like a blood clot that has been removed. The blood can start to flow again!..haha. Once relocated, i expect the cafe will be just a bus stop.

Was at Jusco yesterday and the cinema is expected to be open in a few months time. Its HUGE! must say nowadays the Msians do things with an efficiency level similar to SG. Before i get too ahead of myself,..there are still loads of room for improvement tho.

The only one i could find about "poisoning" is the one from another forum but this is very old news though it seems and apparently Punggol and Sengkang was affected:

http://forums.condosingapore.com/archive/index.php?t-10382.html

I read with much bore the article in the Straits Times on Friday, 3rd December 2010, titled "Chemical Smell Did Not Originate In Singapore". I can't believe NEA is still hiding this matter and hundreds of Singaporeans living in Punggol and Sengkang are stupid enough not to know where the smell came from. NEA is obviously trying to hide something from the people as the truth will mean more people vacating punggol and sengkang due to the poison air. The following is a 2007 article I have found in the Straits Times:

thanks bro for sharing... yes, we always suspected that weird sourish smell is from malaysia. i stay in sengkang.. from my place, i can even see TWO mordors (lord of the rings).. the chimney burning flames, air pollution and super-loud noises from jet planes from seletar

Hi Greddy, yes it was. But 5 things have changed:

1. Relocation and resettlement of orang asli
2. Building of new highway, better access
3. Danga aquired land around Laguna and serious
redevelopment is on the way, lots to change
4. Danga setting up amenities, parks etc in that area
5. Million dollar bungalows will be aplenty in that area surronding Laguna.

thanks bro.. sorry doa i missed this post
here's another option to check out

Threesome dinner, sounds weirdly fascinating LOL. Seriously though you guys should get together but again, don't use the forum nicks although in Crystal's case would be hard because most of us here are guys.

Is there a nice pub or wine outlet that we could chill out in Bt Indah? Use it as a catch-up spot like 1st Friday night of every month at 7pm. In that way, kakis may turn up when they are free.

Otherwise, prata at Habib is alright too!

Please don't say that, my contractors are the ones mainly doing Nusa Duta who my aunt recommended to me.
Thats why when you pay it forward, you never know when the person you are helping today may turn out to
be helping you too.

In my aunt's case, i am actually repaying her for all the kindness she gave to the family when she was young.

Sacrificing her youth and her happiness for the family so that she can help out. Her husband is also great too,
waiting for her all these years and always showing my late granpa and my grandma alot of respect including
taking her out every weekend, sending her for religious activities, etc. She also gave me tuition when none would.

Yet another aunt has given all her pay to the family and helped out my family before many times in the past even
if she herself was in difficulties.

These 2 aunts, my dad used to always tell me to keep in touch long after he is gone. I will make sure to let my
kids know what they have done for us.

To quote a movie "What we do in life, echoes in eternity."
Quod in vita facimus in aeternum.

When a person is gone, his titles and his academic or career prowess is almost always forgetten and
seldom if ever inscribed on the grave marker. His good/bad name remains.

What do you want on your tombstone?

Wuqi,

I sort of resemble this gent ... What happened to him 2 years ago is happening to me now. Hope my end result will be resembling his too  I have a lot of respect for chaps with such dare-to-do attitude, especially at his age! For them to get out of their comfort zone, the resistance is incredible, as can be seen from my two old folks ...

Actually there is one Indian gent in HH who really power. He told my dad, 2 years ago he saw on some forums mentioning about Johore.
He then went forth immediately, booked a cab, came and bought a home. He has been living here ever since.

He has no cars, no maids and his family at first thought he was crazy. 2 years on, he has run out of room as his relatives all came! He still gets around using taxis,
CW3 and a few times he even walked from Jusco.

When my dad related this to me, i really have respect for this guy who is a retiree.

Thanks bro for your blessing. Spring cleaning once every 3 years sounds ok. Yeah, only need a big HP unit for the hall, and that's if I will use it often. It's airy for the area (at least for now and for the so many times I have been there), so getting one of those standalone cooler or standalone fan with water humidifier might be an alternative, to complement a smaller HP a/c. I have seen one such standalone product by big brand - Honeywell - for about RM400 only.

It has been more than 7 working days, and none of the bank has gotten back to me yet. A bit worried now. Their response was initially prompt but the standard is dropping as days go by. They don't even reply to Email now ... I hope everything goes smoothly and i have my fingers and toes crossed!

Yes, its mainly the cleaning but you can get professional cleaning firms to do it once every 2-3 years. Algae probably not since you have airconditioning. The only thing is with the huge halls, etc, need to get at least 2.5 HP unit for aircon. Its really bright and airy. I am so glad
you made the choice and went ahead.

Yeah, I don't think they will be a laughing stock. But it's good that they are coming back due to rising confidence  when you said they bought one earlier, I presumed it's not in Malaysia?

Btw, this morning, my cousin called me and asked me to bring her and her husband to JB to show them around, including the place I have vested in. They drive and I have agreed. So another day to run out, and leaving around 11.30am.

Was at the clubhouse today, their menu has been updated. The special cinnamon roll set and pizza has ended but they have others. My fav there is always the tea tarik(large mug of it) with the fried rice(with satay)

Saw my learned friend today who went with his sister and brother in law. About 2 years ago, they came with my friend. My friend then subsequently bought 2 but they didn't. They went to Laguna today and fell in love with the place but alas, no more. (Back then i had brought my friends to Laguna as well but without knowing the changes to the place, they bought at another development instead.)

In the end, they are back today, not sure whether they bought as i left a while later. I told them before, no one is going to laugh at you if you do a u turn now.
A mistake realised, a change made is better than going on until you find the road is a dead end. Thats why i am always the first to admit if i am lost and then bring out my GPSs, maps etc.

Actually, the way I see it, they might be the poorest, but they are certainly one of the happiest bunch. I always see them playing in group and having great time at laguna. I don't think any of them have bad intentions whatsoever, otherwise, security would had been an issue since years ago. But when I spoke to an uncle there (been there since 2008), he said no issues within and outside the Taman. And in fact, it's peaceful and secluded, and he loved it.

yes bro.. orang asli are the aborigines and poorest in the country right? or have they been relocated for new developments since 2yrs ago?

Station one is one choice. They have happy hour on beers too. Can't remember the time. Do they have band too? But this cafe could be quite crowded, so it might not be a good place for a chit chat without shouting at top of voice

btw, dun make it Friday leh ... Unless until I have fully settled down in JB, or unless bro yonglip allows me to stay at his place

How about STation One cafe nearby? Not exactly a pub but nice place with rather good food and music and ambience?
