Just came back from Gombak Statdium for pap rally. Huge crowd of about 200. Now going over to Industrial Park A for SDP rally, which is difficult to get to ... thanks to pap strategy.

The SDP rally fared much better than the PAP rally. Definitely, SDP rally is more exciting and entertaining. Let's be honest. Who doesn't want to go to a rally to be entertained and have a good laugh? That reminds me of the mass rallies held by the Opps during the GE2015.
But when it comes to polling, it is an entirely different thing. It is no laughing matter. It is about your livelihood. It is about your choice of who is better to lead the country and ensure a better future for you ? WP ? SDP ? SPP ?
That 's what happened in GE2015. Every constituency was contested. The large number of swing voters got worried - Is this the demise of PAP ? So, they voted overwhelmingly for PAP to insure that they stay in government. They trusted the PAP. And it is true , life has been better over the last 50 years under the PAP 's governance. We have won the respect and admiration of many world leaders for the transformation of our nation.
But this time round, it is different. The government is settled. The issue is who is the better candidate to represent the BB constituency as their MP ?
Murali has made his stand. He will be carrying out the NRP programmes under the Jurong Clementi Town Council for BB. However, as their MP, he will not be in BB full time as he has his legal practice in the day time. This does not mean he is not available. His team will always be there to help him. He is always in touch with his team on issues with the BB residents. If elected, he will go on to carry out the promise made by the ex-MP David Ong at the last GE.
Chee, on the hand, pledges to be a full time MP. He has made it clear the BB is his priority. He will get his team to run the Town Council with the aim of reducing the conservancy charges for BB residents. He will speak up for issues affecting residents and the nation in Parliament.
What boils down as the deciding factor at the polls is who is the better choice to serve as the MP for BB residents ? Who will be able to deliver on the promises made in this BE ?
The PAP has a broken record. The ex-MP David Ong has betrayed the trust placed on him by the residents in the last GE. How is M going to do differently to restore the trust and confidence of the BB residents in PAP 's candidate?
Chee has a legacy of issues, but he has born the 'chastisement' for the last 25 years. He was made bankrupt, ridiculed, derided for his ideas, but he came back after every setback. He has a good chance now to show that he can do something for BB residents , if not for Singaporeans.
My advice to Chee is be balanced in the approach. Keep it simple and sincere. Do not over dramatize. The focus is not just on you. If you do alms, you do not need to sound a trumpet. See, how smart the PAP is when they put up M with the resident boy in their campaign poster ! It is not just about the candidate. It is also about the residents that you serve.
