When pidemco land collapsed in 97 crisis, temasek went bail it out by merging it with DBS land. LML was CEO of pidemco then. There was a fight for who will become CEO of the merged entity. They eventually chose Liew, the ceo of the bailed out company, even though he did not have ample experience compared to veteren Han Cheng Fong.

I think Edwin Tong is just an average SC. Ditto Murali. For sure both not in Cavindar Bull’s league.
Cavinder Bull is in another league together with the likes of say Harpreet Singh, Tan Chuan Thye and a couple more all linked by being members of the Judicial Clerk alumni.
That said both Edwin and Murali are very capable legal counsel, similar to say Hri Kumar.
