sadly, LHL indeed is not exceptional. But does he know that he is very ordinary?
I cant answer that for him but who to replace him with that will command the respect of the Indons?

LKY is no longer around so thats moot. So we get rid of LHL and who would replace him? Who do you think will command the respect you think others should accord us?
not moot...if lhl cant wear LKY's shoes, he shd admit it

LHL shd not think that he is the best and place obstacles to hinder others from rising up
Then what should he do after that?
let singaporeans decide who is best to replace LHL in a fair election
They can command respect from the Indons when they cannot command respect from Singaporeans?
he shd go to jail
The previous one was not fair? Then why no outcry from Singaporeans both pro and anti PAP and the rest of the world?
how do u know the one after LHL cant command respect?
To you, was it a fair election and level playing field?
Which one?
anyway, I am glad you admit that LHL doesnt command respect from the indons..
that is enough
To you it was not? Then where was the outcry both local and international?
you sound young and naive and I will leave you to think abt your own question.
My advice to you is to use your brains
Nothing to do with having balls or not. Its just common sense No regional country let alone Singapore can take on Indonesia both Militarily or otherwise. Only the big countries in conjunction with many other countries can move towards imposing economic sanction. Unfortunately the haze only effects Singapore and some parts of Malaysia.
Secondly we have been hiding many Indonesians who have committed various crimes especially commercial crimes and have refused to hand them over. We now struggle with challenging them on moral grounds. It is no surprise that in recents months the press has publicised the deportation of 2 wanted Indonesian so some level of bartering is taking place.
Where the PM truly has no balls is that the responsible companies' owners and their families actually have homes and families here but they are also some of the richest people. The cabinet can easily handle them but has chosen not to because of vested interest in the economy and personal links.
They also take refuge in that there is no clear laws to prosecute them plus the lack of clear evidence which require direct Indonesian involvement. This is however bullshit as Old Man thru out his rule had no qualms coming up with all sorts of legislation, multiple amendments to drive action some of which are downright petty.
may be ages ago, but i think the same principle applies.
the main difference is LHL is in charge of SG
The day your Prime Ministar has the balls to do the above will be the day I vow to do the following:Where the PM truly has no balls is that the responsible companies' owners and their families actually have homes and families here but they are also some of the richest people. The cabinet can easily handle them but has chosen not to because of vested interest in the economy and personal links.
