This is posted by Kumar22 on other forums it's a good read. But i applaud Leong for his bravery & courage in his letter. Indeed he is asking for it again and i don't think 'he' is going to or could take it lying down. Especially when you publicized it. 'He' will guarantee work on double the 'compensations' for those public funding it because it seems to braven the 'offender'

He already have 'people' publicly spoken about it to increase the fines for those public funding it. It seems like that's how they work, like it's always the people's wish/choice and they're the 'victim is it not ?

Next time there'll be two verdict eg: Personal fine 100k cannot be public funded. Publicly funded add 500k. There's no way you can win unless 'they' are ousted and by the look of 40% = 10 chairs i really don't see how ? /rofl........

Now I'm no fan of Lee Jr. I think it's pretty vicious to go around suing people for minor stuff. More like abusing the court process to settle petty scores, which in most cases, should be ignored like how Western world leaders respond to nasty stuff posted about them.

That said, Leong is not poor and while it's justified in a way to seek donations to settle the suit, it appears that he himself did not have to fork out a single cent. Opposition supporters, many of whom, are no where close to him in terms of wealth, went over and beyond to pay for something he foolishly chose to do and pursue. The same with Roy.
These people just simply post stuff without checking, knowing full well how vindictive the PAP is, and then expect the public to carry the can for them. Roy even, was offered to settle the matter by apologising and make a post expressing his mistake. Instead, he brushed it off and told Davinder to go ahead and serve him the writs.

I believe the same option was given to Leong. But same course of action again. Why insist on proceeding in court, knowing what the likely outcome would be? Yes, there's some mileage in it, showing the watching world what kind of vindictive, petty and bullying person Lee Jr is. However, this is not his first rodeo, and won't deter him or his fellow leaders. I say, the opposite is just as true. Knowing now that opposition supporters will foot the bill, might as well go for it. Nothing better than to see people who you don't like and won't vote for you, forking out their own money to pay you. Davinder, especially must be grinning from ear to ear.

Furthermore, this is a non issue for swing voters and neutrals, possibly 1% or less, will even consider such bullying tactics, as a factor to vote against the PAP. Then, whatever 'bad press' especially in foreign media or even world leaders noticing it, all this is forgotten. Just another 15 mins of 'fame, infamy.' There's no strong condemnation, no sanctions, nothing. He's just as welcome to visit or host them as before.

So what purpose is there to pursue or fight a lawsuit all the way up to court? When an apology and retraction can save a lot of people their hard earned cash? The people that matter most to them, the opposition supporters, would not see an apology and retraction as a bad thing. They' might be even more sympathetic.
Even swing voters or neutrals will understand the circumstances that forced the apology.

Roy didn't even bother to work after being terminated by TTSH. He simply milked the publicity dry. Got to travel the world over, playing the victim card to the hilt. Complaining how he lost his job, but refused to find another. Didn't even bother to help his dad run his stall. All want cushy life, acting like some kind of expert on opposition politics. Just post irresponsibly and don't even bother about consequences, because got people to pay for it.

These people are not the kind that any self-respecting opposition party would want anywhere close to them.
Heck even though friends with Dr Chee, even he did not offer them membership and a chance to run on the SDP ticket. Now Dr Chee, he's different, his lawsuits, that 1 by all means keep on paying, because they purposely keep targeting him, trying to force him out of politics by bankruptcy.

That's why so many say Sinkies are dumb and it goes both ways, the fools blindly supporting the PAP and a segment of opposition voters, who just because somebody anyhow hantam PAP, this one must die die support financially
