A man controls his raft while evacuating himself from his home during floods in Bangkok on November 7, 2011. The Thai capital, built on swampland, is slowly sinking and the floods currently besieging Bangkok could be merely a foretaste of a grim future as climate change makes its impact felt, experts say.

Joe bro, I have to be in BKK soon for biz. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I would like to know if the food and water supply in the capital will be affected by the flood. Do most of the food come from the places that are hard hit by the flood? So if I walk into a rest. and order the food, will it be fresh? Will costs escalate as well? Thanks in advance.

Worst is coming. Now water still keep going up. Next high tide is 7 day away.

Over the weekend I was in restaurants, prices are the same and quality of the food is the same. I was also in Bang Kapi's The Mall supermarket and it was very well stocked without any differences in pricing. Again I stress this is the current situation but we don't know what will happen tomorrow. Also it depends very much on where you stay, at this moment Ratchada area is very risky. North at the Suttisan intersection and above is flooded (Suttisan/Ratchada tunnel at this intersection is closed because its flooded) water is moving slowly southwards.

If you will be staying in Sukhumvit area no problem its dry. I think this area will but be flooded and if it does could be well this weekend or after.

truth speaks for itself no need for royalists and yellowshirts to speak up for it

There is always the danger to associate the Act of God with the acts of Govt. But acts of people can augment the Act of God, often in destructive ways.

A Thai Buddhist monk sits in a boat as a resident wades through floodwaters in front of Wat Wichitraram temple in Bangkok, Thailand, Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011. Thailand's energy minister said the flood crisis in Bangkok is likely to drag on for another month, as authorities issued another evacuation advisory in a northern neighborhood and floodwaters inched further into the city's heart.
