Chatuchak Market remains open despite flooding

Tourism hotspot Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok’s inner north has remained open despite floodwater building up outside of the Land Transport Department.

The floodwaters have been slowly creeping towards the city along Vibhavadee Road, where they are currently situated outside of the market, close to Mor Chit BTS Station.
About 50 per cent of the stalls are open, with vehicles able to enter the facility through gate No. 1.
Pumps are being used to keep the facility free from flooding, with waters significantly lower than they were this morning.
Also within the area, floodwaters from Paholyothin Road have spread towards Kamphaeng Phet intersection, edging its way closer to the Mor Chit Bus Terminal.
Flooding at nearby Lad Phrao intersection has already reached St. John’s Unviersity
