AN UNEMPLOYED man was jailed for six months on Thursday for threatening and assaulting his 83-year-old grandmother.
Seow Kok Hock, 26, admitted in a Community Court to threatening to kill Madam Tan Poh Teen, pulling her hair and punching her twice at a flat in Jurong East on Nov 2 last year.
The court heard that he had asked his grandmother for money to pay his debt.
Initially, she refused to give him but when he started behaving aggressively, she gave him $10.
When he threatened her, a frightened Madam Tan tried to leave but Seow grabbed and pulled her hair and punched her twice on her head.
Seow, who has previous convictions, had two other charges of hurting his wife considered during his sentencing.
