You think the sentence can be so light if the children belonged to some well connected elites?
They won't be riding bicycles.

No one ask yet....
Who did the dead boys' parents vote for?
I believe that what is left unsaid in the report is the deceased had contributed to the accident by not observing traffic rules and cycling very fast on a pedestrian crossing. This omission could have been made to avoid causing more pain to the parents. Sadly, in so doing, it gives the impression that the driver got off lightly.
Also, given the driver's age, a 5-year ban is effectively a life ban because he needs start from scratch when the ban period is over, i.e. he will have to take all the theory and practical tests.
Banned for 5 years? Should be banned for life la. Pcb sinkie law totally out of whack
you do not need to see the sketch of the site of accident & have a rocket scientist qualification to deduce what could have happened, the driver was at fault, the two KIDS on a bicycle ( no one mentioned this), speeding in a straight line trying to beat the lights, hurrying home, for mum, going to work...the cement mixer is a huge machine & noisy too...unless one is partially blind & deaf, you could not miss it...
You are right, to throw the blame on the kids causing their own demise..stick on the driver, who unfortunately was in a big hurry too...
2 weeks only, is our prison fully booked due to high season?
There can be no question that the driver was at fault, that's why he was punished. If there were no evidence of him being at fault, he would have been acquitted. The question was if anything else contributed to the tragic events. The news report did not refer to whether the judge felt that the boys' actions played a part in the accident but we do know that they were cycling across a pedestrian (not bicycle) crossing which in itself was illegal, even if the traffic police appear to have shut both eyes on enforcement.
The judge also did not but should have blamed LTA and TP for letting a wild west culture on our roads proliferate, especially among cyclists but also among other forms of vehicles.
The driver was of course at fault, he was in a hurry & did not keep a proper look out, what I am saying the shit media is slanting it to look like the driver is the devil that caused the deaths of the boys & heap misery to the parents. Fair enough, we understand their grief & empathize with them, but their boys, is at fault too...not keeping a looking out for SUCH A HUGE CEMENT MIXER, NOISY, DUSTY & SMELL TOO. Are they partially blind, deaf & have problem smelling?? no!... they were riding two on a bicycle, speeding across the traffic junction ( does it matter it is green or red?), in a grave hurry to get home, for mum has to leave for work soon...
Just because dad is from SAF & some MP vying for attention .....the blame lies squarely with the driver??![]()
We appear to agree then. And I misunderstood your earlier post then.
Dumbfuck opposition supporting retards. 2 sons of a Foreigner vs a driver who is true blue local. Govt protecting the local driver. Dumbfuck opposition supporting retard should stop complaining
