Seriously... How the western Europeans "see" him would be nothing of his concern. Especially when he regards NATO's eastward expansion a threat to his country. And we must know the dynamics behind Eurasia -- western Europeans have always regarded their eastern neighbours as an inferior race. Their rivalry goes back to the Byzantine empire and Genghis Khan's Mongolian hordes. His invasion has caused him to lagi lose support from the baltic states and all of east Europe. It has the opposite effect of driving them to nato. And has made the Ukranians hate the russians even more! His ambition of establishing a russian empire and at the same time prevent a democratic encirclement around russia has failed. He also thought wrong, that the west is weak and disintegrated. His backing down from his aggressive initial demands is sign that he realised he has goofed
Yes, negotiations to end the war is best. But Zelensky won't be giving in a lot, since he's in a position of strength now (practically all countries of the world are behind him) and russia has exposed itself to be a lame duck "super power". Putin himself won't be in power for too long. Because as long as he is President, russia remains a pariah suffering the full weight of global sanctions
Once again, i would take battle reports from western MSM with a pinch of salt. Bear in mind Ukrainians have no air cover despite Zelensky begging for it all over the world. Can they really win a war against Russians like that?
Negotiated ceasefire will be very very tricky because both sides have to look good. Let's not forget Macron will be having an election in May and Biden will have his mid terms in November. Both NATO and russia have to announce an "overwhelming victory" to their peoples . Hence i predict this pro/anti Putin bickering on sbf will go on for the next 10 years
