Joseph Nathan: HAS THE PAP FAILED OUR MUSLIM COMMUNITY?

When a particular race fails miserably in a meritocracy, do not blame the govt when all races are treated equally. The blame should fall on those who do not excel academically, lack drive or propensity for hard work. Even with a leg up and some form of affirmative action, the Malays have not been able to compete with the Chinese, Indians and other ethnic groups in SG.

The Houthis are not helping Gazans at all despite claiming to do so by their meaningless gesture of targeting missiles at cargo ships. Their actions, which are driven by Iran, have instead devastated Egypt's economy, which is a country already facing challenges with Ethiopia. This is the ironic outcome of the Houthis' actions. They try to help Gaza, but actually harm Egypt, which is a fellow Muslim country. LOL!

Correct, Muuds have no one to blame but themselves and the Gov has tried all ways to give additional help to them and yet they remain ungrateful and greedy wanting the easy way out, these group of people are doomed since time immemorial.

Malays in SG want affirmative action like in Malaysia where crutches and wheelchairs are provided by the govt. When that proves to be insufficient, stretchers will be brought out to carry them around.

No one failed you, you failed yourself and became the loser that you are now.
A high rate of orthopaedic amputation has to do with poor diet, lack of exercise and staying at home relaxing in one corner instead of working. It has nothing to do with discrimination.

A disproportionate representation in prison and drug rehab centres has to do with a lack of honesty, lack of discipline, lack of drive and lack of self-control. It has nothing to do with discrimination.

Chinks are cheating. And greedy as well.

Chinks are cheating. And greedy as well.

Everybody is greedy and can be fixed and disciplined by the law. But no law nor medicine can fix lazy, low IQ inferior genes destined to fail.

Mahathir Has Spoken (Again) – Malays Are Lazy & Untrustworthy, Banks No Longer Trust Them

In an interview, he said – “This is our culture. We do not know what hardship is, we only want things to be easy. I have tried to be an example, tried to teach, scolded, cried and even prayed. But I have failed. I have failed to achieve the most important thing – how to change the Malays. The Chinese in Malaysia have no special rights, they experience discrimination. But they are more successful than us.”

After 16 years since Mahathir quit UMNO and slammed the Malays, he has spoken again. At his newly created party Bersatu’s (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia) second anniversary celebration at the Malawati Stadium on Saturday night, Mahathir, now 93 years old, has condemned the Malays again – calling the community “lazy and untrustworthy”.

Blame yourself for being poor, Mahathir tells Malays

The PPBM chairman says Malays like to take the easy way out and not work hard.

UTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has once again criticised the Malays, accusing them of being lazy and taking the easy way out.

Speaking to PPBM Youth delegates today, Mahathir, who is also party chairman, said this was the reality being faced by the community now in many fields, but especially when it came to the economy.

“Why? Why are others successful and we are not? Yes, we can blame others for stopping us and cheating us, but others will not correct themselves for us to succeed. Only we can help ourselves to succeed.

“And for that to happen, we need to know our faults and our flaws. We have many faults,” he said in an impromptu address to PPBM Youth delegates at their annual general meeting here today.

Mahathir said Malays only had themselves to blame for the predicament they are in now, pointing out that the community has not made efforts, even though many opportunities have been given to them.

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman said while the country was rich in resources, if no efforts were expended to extract those riches, “we will continue to be poor and left behind”.

“Let us say we have gold and silver buried in the ground in our houses, but if we do not make efforts to dig and extract those metals, it will not make us rich.

“On the contrary, we like to give opportunities to other people who are more hardworking to dig the ground and extract such metals. They become rich because they are willing to work hard.

“This is our main weakness which has caused us to fail. We do not like to work hard. We want it easy. If we can, we would rather have riches come rolling in or flying at us.

“When that happens, we will continue waiting for riches to come to our doorstep,” he said.

Mahathir said this was a characteristic of past leaders, who were able to identify how Malays prefer the easy way out and take advantage of that.

Mahathir further stated that Malays must come to terms with the fact that they had faults and flaws.

“If we do not work hard to overcome this, we will remain weak and will forever be bogged down by these faults and flaws.

“The government is working towards helping the Malays succeed. But that does not mean we do not take care of the other races. It is clear that without help and opportunities, they can build themselves up.

“The ones who are weak, who will become weaker, is us. So long as we are stuck in our old ways, we will continue to be weak and left behind.

“One day, we will become so poor to the point that we’ll have to depend on the goodwill of others in our own country,” he added.

A low income has to do with a lack of education, lack of drive and lack of skills. It has nothing to do with discrimination.

How to have drive in this life when you have been promised everything and anything in the next life? This life pray to allah and fasting will be good enough. Malays are not greedy like the chinese. Chinese are more successful because they are very good at cheating. Cheating all the way to success.

The rise of Chinese businesses globally has given rise to role models and inspiration. Confucian values that focus on hard work, education, and perseverance play a pivotal role. The Chinese diaspora, driven by economic necessity, has promoted a strong work ethic and adaptability. The overrepresentation of Malays in prison and drug rehab centres shows that they possess none of the above qualities. Labelling the successful as dishonest just shows the extent of duluxe's envy of the successful.

I think paying Malays who want to shake legs and go back on the dot the same wage as local indians and local chinese who outperformed them is over-paying. Even my pinoys would offer and do tasks that are not in their scope.

I have a dialogue with one malay staff and mapped a career path with incentives based but she must achieve the goal I set. I even want to pay to send her to attend course to achieve the goal in my head but did not reveal it. She was just happy with status quo. Paying her the same wage as the rest is really unfair lah. Malays here would cry it's discriminating, lol.

So what you are saying is that the stereotypes about Malays being lazy, lacking drive and not wanting to work exist because they are true.

I don't believe in stereotyping, I would say most of them lack the drive and extra hardwork needed for success. During my schooling days I participated in individual sporting events, I would put in extra effort in training to win medals.

So what you are actually saying is that affirmative action in S'pore is necessary because Malays are not wired to compete on a level-playing field with the other races.

i do not wish to stereo type too but taking the easy way out is often part of their trait. my personal experience is that most of them lack perseverance and discipline. at the slightest hardship, they give up. hence, you see many malays resign from their jobs very often, all due to trivial reasons. whatever drive they have is usually short lived also. when i interview candidates for jobs, the reasons for leaving previous jobs is starkly different between malays and chinese. chinese would say things like previous job scope wasn't challenging enough or they wish to take on higher level responsibilities for better career advancement, etc. malays would give reasons like workplace a bit too far from home or working hours not so convenient and such trivial stuff.
