Jobs Fair : For Singaporeans or Foreigner?

There seems to be many ongoing job fairs nowadays. What I have noticed is the number of foreigners (Yes, and that includes PR, as long as it is not Pink IC) fighting for jobs with the local Singaporeans.

You can see the frustration of the Singaporeans, going for the endless interviews but no jobs available for them, men and women with commitments, mortgage to pay, school going kids, aging parents to take care.

But when you go to the restaurants, supermarkets, hospital, foodcourts, etc, you see PRCs, Filipinos in those jobs,

In fact, I heard on the radio today doing an interview at the job fair being held at Suntec, when one of the interviewees, a Filipino commentted that he is prepared to accept a lower pay as he feels that the pay he gets in Singapore, is definitely better that what he is getting back home.

If that is not an indication of depression of local wages, I do not know what is.

Assuming an election is going to be call in 3 to 6 months time, will it still be 66.6%?.

Let me guess....

The most popular answer will be......

Singaporeans shun these jobs.
They are lazy, picky & fussy.

Thatz why Jobs are plenty, but hard to find employees.
Hence, the need of open floodgate!

 :p

Sinkies got no balls
You all dare not stand with those that tried to speak for you.
You all dare not give money to them so that they can work for you.
You all dare not support them publicly so that they can speak for you.

You all turn your backs on those that spoke out bravely against LKY
LKY hit out at those who tried to speak for you with his kangaroo courts
You turn your backs and not support them with money and courage.

You let them be beaten and bankrupted because you all have no balls

Why complain now?

Your 400-500++ billions sucked and bled into LKY Temasick and GIC

And even more billions are currently sucked and bled so that LKY can use those money to bastardised and pay his kangaroo courts and running dogs to bleed even more billions from you in future

You got what you all deserved
for your lack of balls

FIND YOUR BALLS TO PUT AN END TO LKY

or open your legs to be further screwed by him

if you look at the number at the travel fairs, singporeans would rather travel than to look for ajob after they are retrenched. the very fact that this is no ordinary recession had not sink in yet. just like my friend who had bought shares of the local blue chips .sia at $17 DBS at $15, capitalnd at 4$. now he got no money to take up the rights issue. sinaporeans have lost their instinct to look out for dangers just like our big investment agencies did.

Travel or not, investment or not. At times like this savings is an absolute must. I reckon, in this bad times, instead of the 3 to 6 months of savings being advocated, it looks more like a person or family would need minimum of 6 to 12 months of savings, with the situation as it is, abd it seems to get worse of the days goes......

You are right, the days of a strong labour union, that stood up for the rights & ricebowls of Singapore workers, is gone; around 25 years ago.

1984

If there is truth in, what they say about Singapore workers; then the government, must find out why?, and improve on it.

But, the reality is, SINgapore workers becomes unemployable, due to the labour unions of today.

You can't just use numbers like that for comparison. Let's say only 50% of Singaporeans were badly affected by the recession and the other 50% did not receive any retrenchments or pay cuts. Assuming an adult population of 3.6 million (80% of 4.5 million) in Singapore, that means that 1.8 million people are still doing fine and able to go on holidays. Even if just 1% of this 1.8 million were to go to a travel fair, it would still be pretty crowded.

Singapore is a very densely populated place, any location can become overcrowded easily with just a small proportion of the population

You didn't get what I meant. If just 1% of the adult population feels that their future is very secure and decides to visit the fair, you would still get a substantially huge number to give you the impression that everything is hunky-dory in Singapore.

Similarly, a large number at the job fairs does not mean everyone is out of work but it does raise concerns because a 1% rise in unemployment has big implications.

Because alot of these female FTs from PRC, Vietnam, Philippines, are cheap. They don't care because they can moonlight in bars at the likes of Orchard Towers, Joo Chiat, Geylang, KTVs.

These FTs are exploited and they know it.

But these FT CBs dare not ask for Singaporean salary scales. They dont mind being PROSTITUTES. :oIo:
