I think that we should understand and see from the poiints of views of employers and business owners and investors too. Hire Singaporeans? Got all kinds of reservist mobs, callups, high keys, low keys, IPPTs, RTs etc. If you invest your life savings in a business, would you want your business to be disrupted like that?

This company should be hauled up and deregistered by ROV ..as it clearly try to save cost [CPF] and openly discriminated the employment oppurtunities for singaporeans............
TIMEE FOR PMLHL TO WAKE UP TO THE MANY CLEVER SCHEMES BY OUR MIMISTOOT , in trying to bootstrapped a fast growth..bring in favourably so many foreigners...

and same for those women that are newly wed, young and married, planning to start a family, pregnant. The employer wouldn't any maternity leave and paid salary during the absence.

Local company doesn't want S'poreans to work for them

A STOMPer was saddened to see this job advertisement for a local company on a website that strangely enough, doesn't want to hire Singaporeans.

Silent77 told STOMP via email today (Sep 19):

"There have been many reports about companies discriminating against foreigners, but this is the first time a company discriminates against born and bred locals.

"Is there a rule preventing such discrimination, like that against racist job advertisements?

"It's sad to see Singaporeans discriminated against in their own country."

Ya, but even if you indicate in the advert that you want only Singaporean and PR, those who apply are mostly foreigners anyway...

I advertised for a position in JobsDB.com three weeks ago and more than 80%of the respondents are foreigners from a diverse countries - the Philipines, Indonesia, India, China, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. Only a handful Singaporean apply and the few PRs who are interested are usually from Malaysia.
