if the sdp clown can get more than 30% of the votes in this coming general election. i quit ... !!!

Hi Hopeless, what are you quitting? Life? PAP? Sinkieland? All your money?

I sincerely believe the SDP may even get more than 30% this time! The ppl are really sick of the PAP. Truly the ground is sweeter than in 2006.

Especially when SDP has professionals like Dr Vincent Wijeysingha, Dr Wong Wee Nam, Vincent Cheng, Dr James Gomez, Tan Kin Lian, Mohd Jufrie, John Tan, etc on the same GRC team. All very qualified and passionate ppl.

I will vote for the SDP!

Sigh

SDP had again confirmed themselves as a refuge for political liablities.

PAP is going to have a field day.

Political "liabilities" will always find themselves a platform, even if the SDP is not one or does not provide one.

It will be interesting to send different parties into Parliament. One GRC each for SDP, NSP, WP, SDA and RP. Even SF if they have the resource.

There is bright hope if Dr Chee decides to see "unfair" parliamentary eletcion fight as a possible way out.

Wind is blowing in his direction, what else can he hope for?

Well we have to thank the PAP for creating these "liabilties". Someone has to deal with them.

Yes one GRC each for SDP, NSP, WP, SDA and RP would be ideal. Then we can see the 'real' opposition in action!

WP if they continue like the years before, will be goners for good. Their previous and 'no change' insipid performances against the likes of SDP or RP or even NSP, will paint them as no better than the PAP MPs. Ppl can see the difference!

And lawyer Chia Ti Lik if he were to get into parliament as SF representative could do a better job than WP reps. WP will be exposed as another paper PAP.

I agree with you about WP but each of the other opposition parties have their own problems, shortcomings and dubious areas.

I guarantee that the opposition party with a clear hope will get my services (I mean offline service). There are none. I have been quite sick of staying in an environment where the best they can do is to manage member number #23. So for now I would only vote for any opposition and do nothing further. When the day happens, it happens.

Dear Perspective

I just hope they can coorperate enough to get in to parliament and not kill themselves and each other trying to get in.

Desmond Lim comes to mind

Jame Gomez's entry into the SDP is good news for PAP, since his entry into SDP dampens the presence of Vincent Wijeysingha and Wong Wee Nam. Only uninitiated and uninformed idiots will be impressed with Gomez. Anyone with him in NUS knows that he is a stirrer. And his conduct at the elections office was such a fiasco.

Any more doggies showing themselves like you to be the mongrel who bites his masters hand? Maybe when GE is nearer then all you dogs will be running about headless?

Speak to anyone who knew JG during his NUS days. Think he broke the record as being the only two-week-long NUSSU President.

I was hoping that James would not join SDP especially after the rousing speech by Vincent Wijeyasinghe.

James has over over 15 years has initiated many things in his political journey and most of them have fallen by the way side. More importantly his habit of consistently failing to cross his "T"s and dotting the "I" s.

I recall that prior to the 2006 GE, I made a comment about his tardiness on 2 previous occasions. GMS responded by stating that it was not James' fault. 2006 proved that he did not change.

His recent registration of an NGO is now pretty much dead in the water. I have always felt that he was like his father who was misusing his position to earn a living.

Many in the Indian community are also upset that he was vehement in his claim about submitting his papers and the they being branded with the usual stereotype of twisting their words.

Unfortunately his membership cancels any gains from Vincent's involvement.

Just watch the votes. Chee with his brand of politics suffered poorly at the polls in Jurong but for this guy, its not his brand or style of politics but questionable conduct from his roundtable, think centre days to his recent initiative.

I guess the NGO's well of good dining, travel and camaraderie has got another victim.

Let's see how he throws a wrench into SDP's campaigning, as if SDP is not good at sabotaging themselves when the election comes.

Actually, people blindly supporting whomsoever is vocally against PAP without whatsoever rhyme and reason, these are PAP's best campaigners.

HAHAHAHAHA

Do they realised that? Or are they just out to attract attention for whatever purpose there is?

As we are here commenting and at times debating about how we could change the political landscape, we have people of whom seem more into how to create spotlight for themselves, making themselves indian chiefs and that is all. Its like they dont seem to have an real intention to improve things and shoudl they do, their actions speaks no volume.

When i mention "political liabilities", i m not looking from a PAP point of view but of the voters view, where votes will turn away from these people and it has nothing to do with PAP. In fact, PAP welcome them more and would do little to discredit them when their own actions will take care of the rest.

SDP supporters in this forum, I await your defense of james, but you wnat to do so, lets do so with straight logic and rational and not rabid-like barking and side-step argument

The middle ground is watching and seriously, you guys dont cut much ice.

Hope that he won't make stupid mistake again of submitting incomplete form this time round...

Cannot make same mistake twice. Too suspicious. He will find some other screw-up. Maybe fall sick at the last minute etc. Will be most entertaining, better than Love or Taiwan Tornado.
