In fact, Miss Tin Pei Ling was the best performer of PAP with an increase of 7.4% of popular vote.

Mr Tan Cheng Bock is the opposition best performer. He did very well to shave almost 27% of popular vote from that lazy and obese indian PAP minister.

Had it not for Mr Heng last minute switch to East Coast GRC, I think WP would easily have taken another GRC from the PAP. Despite a future Prime Minister helming it, their popular vote was shaved off by almost 7%. It's telling how much trust the people of Singapore has in the PAP.

Iswaran is West Coast Chinese temple's patron, okay! I'm sure a lot of the templegoers there voted for him.

Welcome back, cloudy.

Tan Cheng Bock has performed very admirably. He has always been used to playing the role of dissenting PAP MP, and is now learning how to play the role of opposition candidate - and hopefully in the future, opposition MP.

May the force be with him

nothing really to shut about
nothing really to mourn about
the same old shit
the same old threads
the same old clothes
nothing really change at all
back to the gutters
back to the ghettoes
back to shitting times once more...

The problem is since he didn't managed to win his West Coast GRC this morning and hence no continuation. Do you think he'll make a comeback in 2025 at 85 years old? This is what worries me as we had potentially lost a credible Oppo.

if only dr tan go in alone as smc
instead of being so ambitious
he should have easily won an smc
but well alas, too ambitious and too greedy
he falls flat at the hands of the more experienced pap
in five years ??? better to live happily than to fight sadly in vain
singapore will still go on without any oppo insanity
pritam is now the leader of the oppo
so good luck to him and he can helpthe less fortunate sinkies

Iswaran is the strong promoter of CECA agreement, luckily with the ignorant PG and MG PAP voters, he managed to survive with marginal win. If nothing change in CECA agreement, it is very likely that he would be next one like NCM in the next election. But, of course, by then he has already made enough millions of dollars.

i have met this mercurial guy
he is super friendly and super humble
he mixes with the people without airs
he attends the people function like ordinary'
smiling and greeting with great humility
not easy to displace him
he is an icon in west coast
untouchable ...if dr tan cannot beat him, nobody can
iswaran is loved by everyone in west coast
unbeatalbe....

Thankyou. I believe had the campaigning period be longer and people have more time to digest what the opposition candidates are proposing, the PAP would have lost further ground.

oppo give ample time to campaign
four bloody years
and still want to comprain no time
come on lah
jammus came in and simply swept everyone off their feet
it's the personality that pulls the crowd!!!!
not how long your speech or how long your campaign
jammus just got that winning streak in him!!!!

The Workers Party did not campaign on a "popular" anti CECA or anti foreigner platform.

They focus on alternative voices and yet able to achieve good results.

This showed that the anti foreigner or anti CECA sentiments did not resonate that much with the middle ground Singaporean voters who made the swing possible yesterday.

By not adopting an anti foreigner or anti CECA platform, the Workers Party has managed to attract New Singaporeans voters.

Had they adopt an anti foreigner or anti CECA stance, I don't think they would have done any better

That is very very true, and so they have to be very careful in the East as the sentiment there is not very favourable even from before.

Nobody cares about what you have to say.

For PAP to claim that they have a super majority of seats in Parliament with only a very low 60% plus popular vote is telling of their arrogance and refusal to listen to Singaporeans.
