Since kuan yew is still alive , All Govt MPs should champion a PETITION to Mr Nathan and the current PM to audit the country’s reserves and the investment arms independently by non-partisan auditors.
From here, the voters would know whether the current Govt is Div-1 and an above board Govt.

Singapore has only had one government run by locals for 49yrs. Previously the British ran the show. All I can recall is that 2 cabinets Ministers of the PAP have been caught with their hands in the till. Other PAP MPs have also fallen afoul of the laws of this state. Some old timer need to tell us if the same had happened during British rule.

So I am not sure why the old man keeps saying that only the PAP is clean. Why does he presume that any other government if given the chance gto take government will be corrupt.

Sure he has done alot to get rid of corruption and has built a society that is basically intolerant of corruption but the issues are not about corruption but alternative views and choices.

By saying a Govt is Div 1 and above board, one has to be responsible for all the accounts that surrounding the Govt bodies.
One has to open up the books to the public without request and subject to independant auditors before anyting else. Statement of accounts speak for itself and need not merchandising like mad.

Why do think the west is dominant and advanced. Why do you think that their R&D drives our lifestyle and saves us from the diseases of the world. They put in place a democracy where good people are provided the best opportunities to reach their potential. Look at smallest countries like Denmark, Norway, etc. All of them have a multi-party system and at any one time there are 2 strong parties to run the show.

Look at the "white Man's Trash" Australia . They have 9 nobel laurettes, highest olympics medals on a per caipta basis etc, Know what their political model is like?

Read widely and know that wisdom does not flow from the Istana alone.

Thailand, malaysia and Indo are constantly exposing bad leaders, coming out stronger. They will last much longer than sinkapor even they are always ding-donging. Its really sad when our literacy rate is one of the highest in the world, peneration of internet high, access to travel high, etc and they are unable to figure out a basic things like why multi-party system is fundamental to progress and for society's safety.

Why do we squirrel away savings, why do get insurance policies, why do we keep umbrellas, why are there so many banks in the world. Why is Temasek investing in so many countries and in so many business. Why not put all the money in DBS?

I have a differing point of view from the rest. We must really be appreciated of what LKY has done for the country. Hasn't Singapore grow from strength to strength each day?? From nothing to something. Being 1st class in the region. Corruption in singapore is rare because of a just and strict legal system. Yes, his salary is high and he is involved in a lot of investment doesn't it bring good to the country as well?

Lets put an example of Mr Thaksin, he has hell lots of money but he has also brought peace and good economy for the past few years. Look at thailand now is it really better ? I doubt so. Political unrest, riots and many more.

Well ... We are very fortunate to stay in this country and I dare say that I still believe we have a clean govt that knows what they want to do and drive singapore ahead!
