I have never believed in giving people a free lunch, even if they are opposition candidates standing in your ward.
The need to break PAP's dominance is a poor excuse, in my opinion, to vote in an opposition candidate that is unelectable.
The PAP will control all levers of government whether you vote in 5,10 or even 15 Harban Singhs. But those Harban Singhs will tar the opposition and delay the process in the long run.
Moving two decades forward from Harban Singh's time, I'm talking about candidates like Kenneth Jeyaretnam or Desmond Lim.
Arrogant beyond belief, and ultimate spoilers, if you ask me.
I'd rather the $13,500 MP allowance goes to the PAP than to them. At least I know the PAP builds community child-care centres and such stuff.
I don't know whether either of those two jokers will stand in my ward, but i know if they do my choice will be between spoiling my vote and outright casting a cheque for the PAP.
I don't need to vote oppostion because I owe nothing to no one, and like many other Singapore citizens, I vote according to who serves me best, not some abstract political notion like "denying the PAP".
