Why all the fuss over a virus that is no worse than seasonal influenza. When thousands of Australians died from seasonal flu last year (2019) nobody imposed a travel ban for those from Australia so why do it with the coronavirus now?

Proves my point exactly. Very low risk for the vast majority of people even with those faulty figures because the denominator in the covid-19 cases is vastly under reported. You need to multiply the denominator by a factor of 10 at least.

Add to that the fact that the flu figures in the chart have obviously been massaged and I can see that the whole comparison has been designed with an agenda in mind.

Here is why I pay no attention to the mortality rate other than to point out to everyone that is is vastly inflated.

From October 1, 2019, through February 22, 2020, the CDC estimates there have been:

32,000,000 – 45,000,000
flu illnesses

14,000,000 – 21,000,000
flu medical visits

310,000 – 560,000
flu hospitalizations

18,000 – 46,000
flu deaths

So when it calculates the flu figures it extrapolates the infection numbers mathematically because I am 100% certain they have not tested 32 to 45 million people with test kits to confirm that they have influenza and what strain it is. It is just an estimate.

So when they calculate the mortality rate they take those that actually died and divide it by an ESTIMATED number which is staggeringly high in my opinion.

However when they calculate the Covid-19 death rate they take only the total number of confirmed cases for the calculations. This number is of course limited by the availability of test kits and the overall resources of each country that is reporting the figures.

The fact remains that in the USA tens of thousands have died from the flu since October last year and this is despite the fact that there is a vaccine and anti virals that work.

Why mudland people are not banned from entering SG even if they hold work permits? Covid19 already spreading like wild fire in mudland. Special relationship with mudland is no excuse to relax control in the daily flow of mudland workers to SG. They should either stay in SG or if they go back daily to mudland after their working hours, they must be given HSN when re-entering SG daily.

If these clowns and idiots do not understand how to contain Covid19 and still allow people from all over the world to enter SG as a holiday camp, SG is not going be safe from Covid19. Already proven imported Covid19 cases are going up in SG.

GDP and economic survival come first in the eyes of all those who don't have an iron rice bowl and depend upon the economy working in order to survive in this world today.

Shutting down the economy because of the coronavirus would be like shutting down the transport network because of road accidents.

2 people a week are killed on the roads. That's more than 120 per year. Thousands more a maimed and crippled for life in a state far worse than reduced lung function.

Closing all the roads would eliminate road accident deaths. You want to walk 10 km to work and get your groceries using a bullock cart? It would save 120 lives. Surely you cannot be so selfish as to insist on the comforts of motorised transport when it costs the lives of so many annually.
