No problem. I am prepared to wait for him to grow up.
At 28, he is like my sons, that is why I refer to him as boy boy. In an affectionate way, I was simply saying he's still very young and has a long way ahead of him. But with his short fuse due to immaturity, he couldnt accept, and called me old man, wrinkled and fraily etc . Not only me, but other bros consider that rude, very rude.
Old people like you are really sad. You are bitter, miserable, angry, weak, foolish, incapable of loving people, while you wait to die of old age or stroke or any number of diseases. Contrast yourself with Leong, he is old, but he is comfortable with the realities of life, and one can probably have a cup of tea with him and laugh about things. Old people like you are a shame to your generation, sadly you are the overwhelming majority, I guess most people can't beat the grind of mental and physical decline, and you wonder why young people refuse to give their parents money or why nurses slap old people in nursing home and treat them like dirt.
It is a fact you are an old man, you are wrinkled and frail. Accept the facts of life and nature. Don't be so immature. No matter what you call me, or how you twist and turn, the facts are the facts, and you still have the face the facts. If you find that the facts are rude, or that calling you an 'old man' is rude, then I am certain you are very old, because it shows you are already in denial of your age, your looks, the state of your body and the state of your mind.
The aging problem in Singapore is a very serious one. The gov't acknowledges it and is doubling the number of hospital beds for old people when they fall ill, which they often do. Old people are not productive, and they often have problems reading/writing/doing skilled jobs, so we need so many immigrants to fill up these jobs and pay taxes to support old people.
Palitative care, where you care for old people who are about to die, is also very important now with an aging population. In the old days, we just throw old people into one room rental flats and they shit the floors and die there in a pool of shit. Now, with palitative care, old people get drugs to ease the pain of dying and old age. These old people cannot be cured and they are going to die anyway, but at least now they receive painkillers to ease the pains of their old age.
One day you too will be old.. You too will yell '' I am old ''...... You too will leak urine on your shit stench bed... Remember lad, you gonna get old one day too .. Just remember that..
Of course, that is why I am not looking forward to it, and am enjoying my life as much as I can now. Who wants to die, or leak urine, or can't move his arm, or walk out of his apt and then instantly forget his own apartment number, don't be dumb OK??
Anyway, enough about old people, why do you people keep talking about old age and leaking urine etc? That is so dark and unhappy.
Answer is very simple - stop dreaming and get down to work.
If a "postgrad" person has no confidence in himself, and begin to think like a demented old man, how to have confidence in another person? Which girl will want to marry you - not even the shrewd meimeis or Vietnamese farmgirl?
You are right, I shouldn't act like a demented old man, thanks. As for women, I don't have high expectations of them, I would settle for any woman who would just open her legs when I ask her to, do the household chores, and not cause me too much trouble, that is all. If I am lucky, I get a smart and stable one, which is rarer than kryptonite.
I remember meeting her the first time in a Toastmaster event for entrepreneurs, believe she was quite active in those circles.
2nd time was at Beijing airport, bumped into her while waiting at baggage conveyor belt and we had a casual chat.
She was such a nice lady, always smiling and unassuming - read about her death not long after and felt really pity she died so young and so much more ahead in life.
RIP.
I'm sure she is a nice woman. She is still quite young, 45-year-old and already dead, it is very sad. It is not like she is already old. RIP. And condolences to her family.
