Without the people who make up our nation, would we even have a nation in the first place?

A nation is so much more than just a land bordered off for a specific group of people, but rather a place where we come together as one for the good of the whole.

The strength of our nation comes from the soul of the nation, which comes from the people. I mean this in every aspect, by the morals, by the determination, and by the hope of the people.

We are so blessed to be in a nation where we have freedom of religion, but that freedom is taken for granted too often in this day and time. No matter what religion a person comes from, we all have one thing in common, which is morals.

In order for our nation to be strong, the people need to have a strong base of morals in which they live their lives by. Without that code of morals, the nation would be in shambles because everyone would live in a way that only benefitted them and possibly hurt others.Morals are not all that a strong nation needs.

This country was built not by people being lazy and just getting by, but by those who were determined to make a better life for themselves and the generations to come. A quote from Thomas Jefferson says a lot about this: “The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”

In order to keep our nation strong, we must be a group of citizens who are willing to work for not just ourselves but for our nation, too.Another aspect that affects our lives is hope. Without hope, there is no motivation to work hard, live a good life, or live at all, for that matter. Once a person looses hope in life, then their life is basically over unless they can regain that hope. When the tough times come around, it will be the strong people who keep hope in their hearts that a better time is coming soon.

A strong nation has citizens who still have hope in the nation, because once they loose hope then they will not want to remain as a whole.Without a doubt, it is the people who make up a nation. It isn’t the government, economy, environment, situation, or anything else. This is especially true in our nation, where the people have a say in how the country is run.

If the people are weak, without rightful determination and without hope, then the nation is the same. If the people are strong, rightfully determined, and hopeful, then the nation is very strong.

"Without the people who make up our nation, would we even have a nation in the first place? ... ... It isn’t the government, economy, environment, situation, or anything else."

Without the people after WWII to the 1970's who gave their hearts in believing in the PAP & worked with them to build SINgapore, to what it is today...in short the COMMON PEOPLE...there would be no PAP. They owe this to the people. But what have we created? a monster who thinks that, it is their HIS STORY that they had made SINgapore, had become, arrogant, pompous...

Have they ever once thank the people of SINgapore for working with them, with them & for them?? NO! Show me on any sentence any of our leaders ever thank us..I WILL LICK MY COMPUTER MONITOR ( nothing else :p)

We have been talked down, shafted down our throats, directed at & "mummy" us socially, economically & even personally...the best part is, gets blamed when all solutions to the problem cannot be found, other than blame themselves for not able to find one.

Who & which in SINgapore doesn't know what they PAP has done foe SINgapore? Anyone of use can, vomit out all their achievements...but we have paid for people who are utterly incompetent & they do not come cheap. If they want to emulate the private sector, incompetent people must be sacked ore remove & those can't be done, sidelined to do work at a lesser responsibility & reduced remuneration. If this is not done, people perception will never change.

We, the citizens of SINgapore, have worked hard, through our BLOOD, Sweat & TEARS, regardless of language, race or religion built a country like SINgapore. But without the PAP working together with the PEOPLE, we may or may not have a SINgapore of today.

:p

You people are the minority who are bent on destroying this great nation built by the PAP.

A country without any dissents will head for a huge disaster some where down in time, a country with too many dissents, will be destroyed today. A Balance must be maintained..for there must be check & balances, like the Ying & the Yang.

PAP did not build this nation...together with the people they did, a spade is a spade.

A nation whereby the gov asked people to integrate with foreigners is not a nation. If it is the whole world can be a nation also teo bo ?

Without our hard working ancestors, is there ever MIW?

That is my point...our ancestors believed in them...my parents did & so were the people of my parents generation. They saw them as oppositions, they have lived through their lives with them ,with the communists threats, the racial unrest, the economic uncertainty. They took the risks in putting an opposition in power & turning that opposition into a main party & work hard with that party, through toil, sweat, blood & tears, to transform an island of farms, swamps, urban slums, .into what we have today, we call SINgapore, our home. They have put their, faith, hope & trust in them.

Can we, today, place that, the same faith, hope & trust in them?

Finally a nick with sufficient intellect to understand nation building and the vital part the PAP plays in making Singapore one of the most successful countries on earth.

Well done!

I will be adding to your points on a regular basis.

I personally believe that to have a successful and strong nation you need cultural diversity. Hence you guys and gals must learn and accept foreignors as one of us.

My goal today is not to persuade you, but to inform you about the helpful effects of these diversities.

Now for some of my reasons.

Cultural diversity is the diversity of cultures and races. Cultural diversity is important because of the fact that in many different cultures, there are different solutions and guidelines to follow.

This could be such as respecting nature, less polluting ways of growing our Singapore economy and many more. These suggestions of solutions from different cultures can help us as a country and as a world by showing us that the easiest way is not always the best way. Cultural diversity also influences the arts, and how people look at conflicts.

The opposition of today are not like the opposition led by PAP in those founding years. The opposition of today are scums trying to make a quick win and do not care for the people. They would sacrifice the ordinary people's inteests to win a political argument for themselves. Look at Chee. LOOK AT WP IN THE HAWKER CENTRE SAGA. Look at all those spastic oppo supporters behaving like hooligans at election time.

The conduct and action speaks for themselves.
