Housewife and friend charged with murdering husband

JOHOR BARU: A housewife and her friend have been charged at the Magistrate’s Court here with the murder her husband at a flat in Taman Daya two weeks ago.
Margaret Law, 36, and Fam Mee Fatt, 53, were jointly charged with murder of 44-year-old Lee Ming How on July 14.
They were accused of having committed the offence at a flat along Jalan Nipah in Taman Daya here at around 2pm.
Both Law and Fam, who works as a labourer, were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 34 of the same Act, which carries the death penalty upon conviction.
No plea was recorded from them after the charges were read out before magistrate Nurmadiana Mamat who then set Sept 27 for the next mention pending the post mortem result.
In the same Magistrate’s Court, the two pleaded guilty to taking drugs and were each fined RM1,700 in default six months’ jail.
Law was tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine at Johor Baru South police district headquarters on July 15 while Fam tested positive for methamphetamine at the same location on July 16.
They pleaded guilty under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
Nurmadiana also ordered them to be placed under National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) observation for two years.
Deputy public prosecutors Sharifah Natasha Syed Ahmad and Nur Aqiilah Ahmad Rafaei prosecuted both cases while the two accused were not represented.
