This jap only a bit part trainer in Japan second tier horse racing association yet he won 4 Spore Gold Cup since he arrived at kranji 10yrs ago. He sure put the angmo trainers to shame.

The mare shd be the fav for the 2013 Derby. But can she be compare to the MRA super mare Confluence who dominate Malaysia races in the early 2000s?

RACE 1
Not an easy race to start with. Buzet (6) has been racing consistently of late at this trip of late and from the good draw should be in the firing line for a long way. Drama Superstar (1) won well two starts back and followed up with a sound performance last time while Chevy (10) has been mixing his distance but on best form must be considered. New Lease Of Life (12) ran an improved race last time and with the senior rider on board must be respected.



RACE 2
Another open race with five of the 12 runners having their first starts. Smart Idea (3) has performed solidly in his four career starts, filling a place on each occasion. Expect him to go well. Spot On (4) has drawn awkwardly but has been around the mark in recent assignments and must be respected while Visionary (6) and Mr Armstrong (10) are both nicely bred newcomers with OK trial form and must be considered.



RACE 3
Open race with plenty of hopes. Maraeti (5) will relish the rise in distance to 1900m. Boxed on soundly after leading last time and did trial nicely on Tuesday. Lindt (4) has filled a placing at his past three outings and won’t be too far away here while Guided Light (2) went about his work in good fashion last time and is again expected to feature prominently. Chief Secretary (3) disappointed last time but his previous win was good and is well worth another chance.



RACE 4
A moderate bunch to do battle here. Whydoyouask (10) showed improvement last time out and is expected to give this a shake. The claim brings him in nicely. Fuku’s Pet (5) is racing well and gets the services of Joao Moreira this time around while Magic Diva (1) will appreciate coming back to Class 5 grade here and must be respected. Rapid Rewards (8) was a winner three starts back in this grade and must be considered on that performance against this lot.



RACE 5
There was a lot to like about the first-up win of Foxtrot Hotel (7). He’s going to strip fitter, drops in weight and Joao Moreira sticks with him. He’ll go close. Cash Dot Com (3) has been an honest performer and fresh for this should run well while Valevole (5) led and fought on solidly last time and must be included in the hopes here. Niceone (4) saves his best for the Polytrack and fresh up here must be included in the chances.



RACE 6
There doesn’t look too many chances. Double Dose (3) ran an improved race last time over 1400m, hitting the line strongly and should relish the rise in trip. Chan’s Electra (7) led and boxed on OK last time and back to this trip must be respected while Jeram Rose Wood (2) can mix his form but from the inside draw should get a good run and be tough to stop. Rollthedice (10) did show a little improvement last time and is worth some thought here.



RACE 7
A good race. Flying Fulton (1) can atone for his second placing in this race (when named Proinn Construct Stakes) last year. Hit the line strongly when second behind What Now last time and the extra 300m here suits. Getting onto the Polytrack won’t harm his chances either. Tenzing (3) ran well in the Longines Singapore Gold Cup and will have no problem with the trip while Nandowra (2) is rarely too far away in a race of this nature and must be included in the hopes. Dujardin (8) battled home solidly last week with the big weight and down to 53kg here should not be dismissed.



RACE 8
Expect Harden Up (8) to give a bold sight. Ran well at huge odds in Group 3 before a break. Has trialled nicely for his return and looks well up to this task. Pioneer Seven (5) looked good winning last time after sitting on the speed and is sure to make a bold bid while Super Kenny (7) is rarely too far from the money in this type of race and must be included in the hopes. All Serene (3) was just touched out in an initiation race on debut here in Singapore but Joao Moreira sticks with him in this tougher grade and must be given respect.



RACE 9
A most open race to finish with. Lucky Diamond (1) has been racing in consistent fashion of late and although coming back to the 1100m here is sure to give this a shake. Indulge (5) was just touched out last time after leading and is sure to be in the firing line for a long way here while Robert E (2) saves his best for the Polytrack and should be around the money here again. Flying Zero (4) is an interesting newcomer to the Michael Freedman yard and did have some handy form in Australia to his credit and must be respected.

RACE 9 [TF1652]

The Inquiry into the run of PROFOUND in the ninth race at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 07 December 2012 was concluded on Tuesday, 17 December 2012. After taking evidence from Jockey J Saimee and Trainer L Laxon, the Trainer of PROFOUND, Jockey Saimee was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(8) for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing. The particulars of the charge are:

.1 in that from the 600m until the concluding stages, he failed to ride that gelding with sufficient vigour and determination when it was reasonable and permissible to do so.
When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account the nature of the charge and his record. Jockey Saimee was disqualified for a period of eighteen months with immediate effect from Monday, 17 December 2012 to Monday, 16 June 2014 both dates inclusive and in addition, he was fined a sum of S$50,000. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
On Tuesday, 18 December 2012, Jockey Saimee exercised his Right of Appeal against the decision of the Stipendiary Stewards and the penalty imposed on him.

The Appeal will be heard at a date to be fixed.

Apprentice Wong dies in trackwork accident

Apprentice jockey Wong Wei Xiang (pictured) died from serious injuries following a trackwork fall at Kranji on Thursday morning.

The accident occurred while the 25-year-old Singaporean was riding Nopaynohay on Track No 3 for his master Stephen Gray. Medical assistance was immediately rendered after the fall before Wong was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A Singapore Training Academy for Racing (STAR) graduate, Wong was indentured to Gray in December 2010 before he was granted his apprentice jockey’s licence by the Malayan Racing Association on 25 January, 2012.

The Club is extending its support to Wong’s family during this difficult period and will be conducting an investigation into the accident.
