10 - 10 on Horse No 1 Krypton Factor

RACE 9
Three internationals to take on the local sprinters with Rocket Man a shock omission, out through injury. Krypton Factor (1) the victor in the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen has the credentials to be hard to beat. He ran down Rocket Man in Dubai and he does have handy turf form to his credit as a younger horse. Better Be The One (2), Mr Big (8) and Ato (5) all finished within two lengths of each other in second, third and fourth respectively behind Rocket Man in the Lion City Cup last time and shape as the toughest opposition to Krypton Factor.



RACE 10


Singapore’s feature race of the year and as usual it is an open race. A change of jockey may just be the change of luck needed for California Memory (1). He was successful back in the Hong Kong Cup last December and was noticed getting home strongly last time in a slowly run race. Felix Coetzee knows what it takes to win a feature race in Singapore having won the KrisFlyer last year on Rocket Man and he’s sure to give the grey gelding every chance. Zazou (2) finished third to California Memory in Hong Kong in December and has returned to racing in great fashion this campaign while Thumbs Up (3) chased gamely last time over this trip in Group 1 company in Hong Kong and is sure to also feature prominently. The best of the local gallopers looks to be Waikato (7) following his dead-heat third placing last year and his recent win in the Queen Elizabeth II Cup over 2000m.

Race 1

Kamar Dancer (3) nearly shed his maiden status last time out and hasn’t been penalized for that effort. He’s drawn well and should be able to sit up on the pace without any real effort. Good Day (10) represents a stable in form and has won over this course and distance over a year ago. That was at a higher rating and he can win if he doesn’t find himself too far back early in the race. Switch Doublemisty (12) also looking to shed his maiden status was unfortunate not to have done so last time out. The claim will further his chances.



Race 2



Abastor (1) was a good second last time out and is the most likely to shed his maiden status here. California Kid (4) wasn’t too far behind when seventh last time out in a class 5 race. Into The Storm (3) was fourth in a trial about two weeks ago and can be considered for the exotics.



Race 3



Flash Gift (8) has won his only start at Kranji and was impressive when winning by nearly 4 lengths. He steps up in class and the horse he beat has run third by nearly 7 lengths thereafter. Despite this, he is the follow horse here. That’s Gold (5) and Perfect Time (9)are knocking on the judge’s door and are likely to be prominent in the race as well.



Race 4



In what is not a particularly strong set, Warakei (4) will fancy his chance despite a faraway fourth last time out. The better contenders however are Hearts (5) who was a close third last time out just ahead of Imaplayer (11)and, Hellolo (6) who narrowly failed to get up last time. The extra 100m this time should suit Hellolo.



Race 5



John of Arch (1) is versatile and can handle both surfaces. His switch back to the polytrack on the back of a victory should be no problem. Forgiven (4) is coming off a victory but will have to tackle Martinchco Cat (5) who was a close second to him and who is working out better on paper this time around. Full Toss (8) and Knight Scorpio (9) have both found their range and can win a third start in a row here.



Race 6

Real Goodman (1) has been ultra-consistent but does have to overcome a poor draw. Princess Janna (2) comes right in on the scale with a 3 kilo claim while Super Velox (3) could find the extra couple of lengths that he needs to shed his maiden status. Ninth Avenue (13) will be the beneficiary of a 4 kilo claim and with the light weight is another to consider.



Race 7


Emerald Hill (3) is the horse to follow here and will look to extend his unbeaten run. Precisely (6) has early speed and is the one who will take Emerald Hill on early. Mighty Creation (2) has finished on strongly in his last two starts to win them both. He will be the late closer in this race. BM Win (9) is the fourth horse in the quartet here that is coming off a last start victory.



Race 8



Takeshi (1) runs after a lay-off but was a good second in April. With the claimer on his back, is worth considering if he weighs in at a similar weight despite a poor barrier. Audio Friend (7) just failed to get up last time out and on recent form is the horse to follow here.But Rich Born (8), a winner two starts ago could also find some improvement after his follow-up fourth thereafter. My Way(10) was second last time out but does need to find a few lengths on Rich Born.



Race 9



Perwira (1) has been knocking on the door and a second to Mighty Creation two starts ago may provide some insights on how good this form really is based on the latter’s performance in race 7. Indulge (2)has early speed and was narrowly picked-off last time out. Jet Ace (3) was second to Precisely last time out and it will be possible to draw a line with Perwira from the result of the 7th race. Tenuponpten (10) has been consistent and despite his awkward barrier can be considered for the exotic pools while last time out winner, For Your Eyes Only (11) should be closely considered on his last start victory which he won from pillar-to-post.

Race 1

Speedy Phil (5) narrowly failed to win two starts ago when dropping down in class. That form could see him win here. Rapid Rewards (6) is the form horse and consistent performer in this set and is the horse to beat here. Beyonce’s (8) recent form has been encouraging and while the draw might be of some concern, she could shed her maiden status here.


Race 2

Coup Da Vinci (1) lost narrowly two starts ago and if he handles the switch back to the polytrack could be the horse to follow here. Firth (3) showed some spark three starts ago and a reproduction of that race could see him in the winner’s circle. Sassand (7) could improve from his only start so far and with barrier 1 is lively contender.


Race 3

Seize The Day (1) has been knocking on the door and despite the top weight and awkward barrier is one to follow here. American Vision (4) is marginally worse off than Thisisit (5) and does have barrier 12 to contend with as well. Harden Up (6) is a winner of his only start at Kranji. He looked impressive and capable of getting up in class. He seems to be the horse to beat here. Magic Ocean (10) stormed home to win his maiden and the claim will help him handle the rise in class as will the extra 200m. Stealth Fighter (12) found his best form so far last time out but does have to contend with a poor draw.


Race 4

True North (1) needs to find a bit more than he has so far but he does look to be improving with each run. Christmas (5) easily had the beating of American Gladiator (7) in the former’s only start. The latter has run third thereafter, giving further weight to the former’s chances here.


Race 5

Dujardin (3) steps back to 1600m after a successful trip to the track over 300m further. Will relish a fast pace if he gets one. Grand Approach (7) won his only start and is tackling the rise in class with a step-up in distance as well. Good Towkay (8) is knocking with two solid performances. Will have to handle the step-up in trip from 1200m to 1600m.



Race 6

Roman Knight (1) stormed home late to win by a large margin in his last start. Has taken a considerable penalty for that performance and will compensate for that with the claim over further ground. Shopping List (2) was behind the front running Three Kings (3) two starts ago over 1800m but is better placed on the scales this time around. Incredible Hulk (6) narrowly failed to get up last time out over this course and distance and should put in another strong performance here again. Simple Man (7) works out marginally worse off than Shopping List and must be given a chance here.


Race 7

Squall Line (4) is a genuine class three performer and his back-to-back third placed finishes in his two starts before his last one, brings him in with a chance here. Front running Niceone (5) is the horse to beat here with the inside barrier and despite the consistent penalties he has been getting. ChateauneufDupape (8) steps down in trip and back to the polytrack. Both will suit him.


Race 8

Gateaway (1) ran on nicely to finish second last time out. The claim will help his chances here. Sir Rumble (3) has recent form but his best racing has been on the turf. Zac Imperial (8) was third last time out but does need to find a bit more and MidlifeCrisis (10) is the horse to follow here with strong performances and despite the poor barrier.


Race 9

Dragon Spirit (2) is looking for his fourth straight victory but will have to contend with Valevole (3) who was equally impressive when winning last time out. Emblessed (5) is another going through the grades and could be the one that upsets these two in this extremely interesting contest.


Race 10

Bay of Island (1) was a good winner two starts ago in this class but failed to carry the penalty thereafter. The claim will help him to find that form. Phantom Knight (2)holds a few in this field but does have to find a bit more on his switch back to the polytrack. Double Ransom (3) is the horse with consistent form here and was impressive in his lung opener on his return to racing. He is the horse to follow here. Spinning Success (5) was a good second last time and must be considered as must Winning Success (11) who comes in to this race with consistent performances and a claim.



Race 11

Solitaire (2) and Benji’s Rule (3) are both coming off victories and will have to contend with winning penalties here. The former does have more consistent form and is possibly better placed to handle the penalty but is drawn awkwardly while the latter is drawn well. Irish Lightning (7) has been unlucky twice and this start could be a charm for him while Savilhro (12) is another last start winner in a lower class.
