I suppose after failing to get Goodyear to do what they wanted him to do, they decided to look for others willing to be "Yes" men...Not PSC quality?

NOW that Temasek Holdings' bid to hire a leader from outside the company has failed, the spotlight is turning to the possible candidates within.
Formerly Temasek's chief investment officer in charge of overseeing all investment decisions, he became chief strategist in December 2006 while Temasek was grappling with the fallout from its takeover of Shin Corp earlier that year. Mr Ong, formerly with Lazard Freres & Co in New York, joined Temasek in 2002.
Working alongside chief executive officer Ho Ching is a top management team with 'a diversity of backgrounds and experiences', according to Temasek's annual report last year.
But there are some common threads: a few previously worked with Ms Ho at Singapore Technologies, while others were recruited from high-level positions at Temasek-linked companies. Several are former military officers.
Temasek watchers say one of them might be asked to step up to the plate in the future as the firm may find it harder now to recruit another CEO externally.
'If you go around trawling for outside talent now, you already have a bad precedent in the sense that nobody is quite clear why Chip Goodyear left and no one knows what the strategic differences are,' said an investment analyst who asked not to be named.
So who exactly are Ho Ching's right-hand men and women and what sort of industry experience do they have? The Straits Times surveys the deck.
