警方今早在社交網站表示，對有關行為予以嚴厲譴責。
【星島日報報道】示威者要求「撤回」修訂《逃犯條例》等四項訴求未獲回應，不少市民響應大專學界及網上號召，昨晨按計畫將行動升級為「圍堵」，逾萬人包圍警察總部、稅務大樓、入境事務大樓及金鐘道政府合署出入口。警方今早在社交網站表示，對有關行為予以嚴厲譴責。
警方表示，對於昨日早上約10時50分開始，有示威者堵塞灣仔夏慤道、軍器廠街、告士打道一帶，再進一步包圍警察總部，予以嚴厲譴責。示威者的行為嚴重影響警方的工作，包括警方向市民提供的緊急服務。灣仔警署報案室的服務於下午1時40分左右暫停，而灣仔分區亦有60個「999」求助個案未能即時處理，需要警方調派其他資源跟進。電子報案中心的跟進服務亦由於職員無法進入警察總部辦公而需於昨日晚上11時起暫停。
發言人指，昨晚有9女4男員工身體不適，但由於警察總部附近道路被阻塞，他們被延遲送往醫院診治。示威者包圍警察總部期間，用鐵馬及雜物堵塞警察總部出入口大閘、向警察總部擲雞蛋、在外牆塗鴉、用膠紙遮蓋設於警察總部外牆的閉路電視，示威者亦向警務人員淋油及使用激光射向警務人員的眼睛。
發言人強調，警方已經以最大的容忍度讓示威者在警察總部外集結，但示威者表達訴求的方式已經發展到既不合法，且不合情理的程度。對於這些違法行為，警方必定會嚴肅跟進。

The service of the report room of the Wan Chai Police Station was suspended at about 1.40 pm. There were also 60 "999" help cases in the Wan Chai District which were not processed immediately. The spokesperson stressed that the police had assembled the demonstrators outside the police headquarters with the greatest tolerance, but the way the demonstrators expressed their appeals had developed to an extent that was neither legal nor reasonable.
