Heart problems in Spore for the poor

If you have heart problems in Spore you'd better have a fat bank account. There are many world class doctors that are more than happy to prescribe medical tests & procedures that 'may' help but are not cheap. Even a simple blood test for cholesterol will require a visit to the doctors office for approval for a test

Doctor can only prescribe the 'approved' medical treatments, drugs & surgical procedures. If you are looking for an integrative approach to dealing with heart problems , your on your own.

I recently stumbled onto a book "The Miracle Heart" by Jean Carper, only $6.50 at the Junction 8 Popular Bookstore. This paperback is really useful as it covers the kind of diet & supplements to help your heart.

I found chapter 12 interesting, the use of grapefruit pectin(Profibe by CerBurg) to lower the cholesterol & clear the arteries. I did not know that grapefruit pectin could be used to clear the clog arteries & its only US$16 per cannister. Previously I was only aware of chelation, a non-surgical treatment for blocked arteries.

I checked with the local health stores & none carry this product. So I'm ordering a 10 month supply from the US. According to the research it takes a few months to clear the arteries. The way I see it US$160 is cheep cheep, if it clears my arteries.

Yes, the clinical studies for this product have been very positive & thats what caught my attention.

The current drug treatments have all got problems & are expensive. This is a better alternative & if you are using any medication this product is unlikey to interfere.

Did want to take a blood test before taking the product & after I started, BUT I found out its a hassle to get a blood check. Need to get a doctors permission for a blood test

Few months ago a I did a cholesterol check at the hospital & I think it cost about SIN$160. I went to a poly clinic to find out what they charge & they told me must get a doctors permission$$$ Anyone know where I can get a cholesterol check in Malaysia


I'm also taking some oral chelation products, coq10, vitC, vitE, chlorella, spirulina, garlic, alpha lipoic acid, multivitamins, enzymes, omega3, resveratrol, phoschol, potassium, magnesium, various antioxidants, etc :p

Its been less than a year since I had a heart attack, so although I'm in recovery mode, I'm feeling great now & looking at at scaling back to just taking a few supplements for maintenance.

The different things I'm taking have been recommended by various sources. However it makes it difficult to pinpoint how effective certain supplements are from others.n

Running is not always practical. Takes time & in my case I stopped running when I broke my hips. Used to do about 20km/week

Exercise is good but may not prevent heart attacks cause from high homocysteine levels. Regular runners have been known to have heart attacks

Alchohol drink can lower the colesterol but drink too much can damage liver. So every week drink few glass of beer/ 1 bottle of wine/ 50~100ml liqour can actually help to lower colesterol also.

Unicity already offers its Bios Life 2. It costs much more than Profibe & is a hassle to consume e.g. must be consumed 10-15 mins before a meal. Different formulation to Profib, it uses different fiber than grapeseed pectin.

If you are using statin drugs better take coq10. Statin drugs deplete the bodys coq10.

Drug companies make Statin drugs by extracting it from Red yeast. You can get red yeast which is cheaper & healthier than statin drugs from health stores.

Taking supplements its the norm nowdays. To find out why just go to any bookstore & look at the Health section. Lots of pollution, stress, poor quality foods, etc. Many young people are getting ill

Can Cholesterol comes down after medication? My Cholesterol level is midly exceeded the max level of 200, I am afraid of seeking medication. Will the level comes down after medication? I hate taking drugs, it is the starting journey of weakening our body systems
