Agree.. When I was workin onboard vessel years ago, we have this Malaysian Hainanese Uncle as our cook.. Each time after our 12 hr shift, we would look forward to go to the galley for our meals.. Chicken rice and Chap Chye was his expertise but he can also cook a mean Mamak Mee Goreng for my company's Malay crew..

in its very early days Prince used to be in Shenton way...if this is the same Prince. Set lunch was 1.90.....in 1967.

If the kitchen is run by a Hainanese head chef, bet you aLL the kah kias empLoyed wouLd be Hainanese too !..no
other diaLects can masuk..i rem i was kicked out of the kitchen after 2 weeks on-th-job, and transferred to the
restaurant as a commis waiter.Reason ?..my Hai Lam Ah Koh boss said i dont understand his Lingo..
