The answer is clear… Singapore asked not to be invited. Think about it… if invited and say yes, China tekan Singapore, take all of Temasek’s investments to help pay down Evergrand debts. If say no, US withdraw from Changi (but probably not). No upside for Singapore either way, so best is to ask US not to invite, and just keep diam-diam. Same thing for the US democracy summit. No way the US didn’t want to invite Singapore. After all, we host a naval base, we buy their weapons. US would like to pull Singapore away from China, but PAP dun wan.
