Going for operation tomorrow.

.... The longest it lasts was actually about 15mins where the BP machine could not get any reading. I had already checked with 2 heart specialists in Bangkok and both told me they could not find out the cause, did all sorts of tests including EKG and also scan. ....
I have heard of a similar case like yours. The length becomes longer with age. It was finally diagnosed as some problem with the nerves linking to the heart that triggered the palpitation. He was cured after a minor surgery at heart centre.

he forgot to bring his IPad along

Hospitals are very strict with what electronics you are allowed to use in the hospital because they are concerned with the interference that it might cause with hospital equipment. Something like the restrictions in an aircraft.

A little battery called the pacemaker will revive the ailing heart muscles! Tick tok, tick tok.

Many people don't realise until they get sick that they are paying a high price to live the Spore dream.

So, I heard that the right ventricle can be scarred (fibrosis) if you do lots of marathon or triathlon. Too much running can cause a sudden death.

I'm a very good sprinter (1st) but a so-so runner (Silver).

If you don't hear from me then the operation went badly. Hope everyone stays the same in this forum. Its been a good journey so far.

Sorry I caught up with this thread late. I've been in such a situation before and survived. I sincerely wish you well, the best for you.

Actually, it was SAF's IPPT that forced me to run lah. Running is very boring, you know. Speeding is my fav ! The only thing that can speed is either a motorbike or a car ! And bicycle is not speeding lah. I'm a borne sprinter, I just have what it takes. Sprinting is different from running which is akin to a hard disk drive versus a floppy disk drive. Do you know the difference ? Sprinting is like flying one inch off the ground! Yes, like maglev train ! 飞人 = sprinters. Sprinters have muscular bodies compared to marathon runners who are mostly skin on bone ! Why ?

Conqueror has got a "super engine inside" label. Conqueror lifts 2.8 times his own body weight !

Re: I'm Not A Runner Type

I'm surprise this thread still alive. I'm fine and out of hospital now. Can't get into SBF as the hospital wifi seem to block it. I think they block all known forumns for some reason.

That is the error that popped up. All in all prognosis is good. I did my first op in SGH, basically this is a revision on that first op in SGH. I went to two surgeons here and both hinted that certain things from the first op shouldn't have been done in so many words.
