Salam,

Allah, the all Wise, all Knowledgeable, all Merciful and all Just created this Universe in order to test and examine His obedient slaves and reward them, and to punish the disobedient. He says: “We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in play. We did not create them except for a true purpose (to test and examine who are obedient, and to reward them, and who are disobedient and punish them), but most of them do not know.” [Al Quran Chapter adh-Dhukkhan (44): 38-39]

Allah also made clear the main goal for the creation of mankind saying: “I did not create Jinn and Mankind except for My worship” [Al Quran Chapter adh-Dharia (56): 56]

So not only mankind, but Jinn (genie) as well. And some of them do worship God.

Fear of pain, torment and death is the greatest conformer and will raptor historically known to man controller. Christianity including the other abrahamic faiths insist that you fear its "assumed authority" and to focus on its God/Allah/YHWH's "Eternal torment".

What is a day?
Very small kids can only understand a day in term of day lightness and night darkness. That is the true at their level of mentality. Older kids can understand there are 24 hours in a day. That is also a true. Scientists can perceive time to the precision of milli and micro-seconds. The truth gets more concise and detailed as the mentality and wisdom developed.

The fear factors and white lies have to be replaced with more reasoning and explanation when the kids grew older as they will be more inquisitive. Role modeling is important as kids tend to emulate the people around them. -

It is very strange that if a person is experiencing great pleasure and having a good time, and he was to find out that the authority were looking for him, and they had a warrant for his arrest, all of his happiness, enjoyment will go away. It would be a miracle if he could sleep at night. On the other hand we know that the Angel of death is always awaiting the order of Allah to extract his soul and he will have to experience the agony of death, yet this seems to have no effect on his lifestyle?

This is because the two scenarios are mutually exclusive. The authority is not as definite as the angel of death. Anything that is already definite do not need us to spend much time worrying about it, but the authority is mortal action, hence it has an effect on happiness and enjoyment because it plays on the mind all the time.

Scientists today are eliminating models of God, but they are not eliminating God. If you translate this into Arabic, it is La illaha illal la, There is no god, (god with a small ‘g’ that is fake god) but God (with a capital ‘G’).

"Soon We will show them our signs in the (farthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord doth witness all things?" The Holy Qur'an Verse:41 Chapter:53

In a nutshell, Man fears and respects what is more powerful than him. All creatures including human beings have the survival fear instinct.
What you are driving at is -cultivated fear.
